'I should go,' he remarks, putting his car into gear. 'There's just something I want to say to you.'
I'm confused. 'Sure. What?'
'You came out when I was a kid. I remember how much everyone gossiped about you. I know that can't have been easy.' He pauses. 'But thanks for doing that. Then he drives off, leaving me standing in the bottleshop, staring after his ute. Ali O'Sullivan. Who would've picked it?

pseud277about 3 years agoGreat story threaded nicely among a series of characters Id like to know. Great attention to detail as parts were woven together from seeming trivial asides, such as the story of the O'Sullivans. Very reminiscent of the Aussie stories by author Shaima32 on this site, who also captured that dry as dust Aussie outback practicality. Good job

As an American, I had to look up several things/places in Australia and it was totally worth it. :) Please keep sharing your stories with us!
