i love your work. from the plot to character development, such wonderful work. i am also glad that it wasn't a btb story. there are enough of those on lit. sometimes people can work through their problems. you captured the trials and tribulations crossing over many couples lives. well done and hope to see more of your work sooner rather than later.

Finally a store worth saving. A mistake was made, one time thing, bad judgment and worse trying to fit into a group either at work or anywhere and this can happen. Like the saying goes.. if all decide to jump off the golden gate bridge would you follow to fit in? As for the other unfortunate wives, those that saw divorce actions? I wonder if there was ever any truth in their marriages to begin with. I am not casting doubt but in Terry and Vanessa, being that my job causes me to travel so I ask, (knowing its a story) how honest is Terry? Can Terry take a pass a lie detector test? Many that have to travel for a living will always find bars, clubs and other places where "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" or What happens at sea stays at sea! The issue I see is how easy it was for the few marriages in this story, with children to simply quit, divorce, and fight for alimony or child support.. The husbands here were real dirt bags to even want their children to suffer? pack up move out, fight for alimony and when (in Terry's case) things do work out well at his job he quits and settles on a lower wage job? Because of this his child support payments have to be lower or smaller? I see no concern here? What I see and I am only shooting from the hip, is men whom already in their minds felt their marriages were dead and were gutless to come out with it. Top all, how many of these men, partied at a bachelor party the same way with a female stripper, the lap dance and facial. Hell everyone knows what happens at the parties, and we know the out of town bars and clubs. The moral of the story for me, as the reader, if you value your marriage make it work. Taking the bad, the good and the mistakes, yes this unfortunate lapse of judgment on Alicia's part was bad, but sexual infidelity done over a long or short period of time would have been worse. This is a great story with many problems found in everyday lives and the solutions to either build and keep the marriage or relationship or just let it die. Amusing sidenote, apart from Dexter and Alicia's, the only other marriage that survived was Meredith and David's, and David was a cheater! Another story with that line as the main focus?

It really depends on the reader as to whether this is romantic or stupid. Unfortunately for me, I can not get past the stupidity of this woman's actions. Forget the adultery, she is one stupid, desperate, emotionally weak dope. She let the world know how poor her judgement was when as a married woman she attended a party with a male stripper. Almost every adult knows that stripper is another word for WHORE. What did she think was going to happen? Even if she hadn't sucked his dick, would her husband want her at a sex party? Nope, she did not really care about her marriage all that much and she did not think ahead about what cheating would mean to her life. Cheaters only care when they get caught because THEY no have to feel the pain. If they really care about their spouse, family, marriage - they would never have put them selves in a compromising position. You have to chose your friends based on your values. Her values allowed her to suck a strange guy's dirty cock. Why would any man want her for a wife, let alone the mother of his children? What kind of values are those? Divorce without kids is relatively simple, with kids we all know that the courts will screw any husband out of his kids and his money. Regardless of her polygraph, she was a bad bet not because of what she'd done to date, but because of who she was! The facts are the facts, only a delusional romanticist could deny the truth and warp the ending of this story.

Caving into peer pressure is too juvenile to believe. A good person is repulsed by sinful behavior. Her problems involved more than just peer pressure.

Reconciliation was definitely warranted. The office set up was sort of contrived and anachronistic. Seven women, one a college grad all extremely subservient to the one male boss? That's something out of Mad Men not a modern business environment.

This story has an honest ring. The pain is palpable, and the reconciliation is not easily accomplished. The author is one of my favorites.

The plot was good and the story was well told. Very sad but believable. The fate of the seven marriages was the author's choice, so can't really comment on which marriages failed and why. Enough to point out that a one-time dick suck at a drunken bachlorette party should not end a sound marriage, especially one with children. So we have to accept that most of the marriages were weak to begin with. If it hadn't been that issue each marriage very likely would eventually fail for some other reason. Just my opinion based on my own experience. Divorce as a form of punishment is cutting off your nose to spite your face. If the husbands really thought their wives were sluts that needed to be divorced, there had to be other issues reinforcing those choices.

Dexter and Alicia's marriage was the only one worth saving. Alicia was uneasy about the stripper getting fully naked and then she felt pressured to follow the group mentality. Mr. Stripper should've been more professional and kept his dick in his G-string but no, he had to get his blowjob. And the rest of the girls? None of them showed the slightest bit of nervousness about blowing him. They saw that what's her face was recording the whole thing and immediately went for "if he sees that, I'm doomed." No shred of thought towards their men. Nope, just "better delete it or I'll be up shits creek without a paddle". Good on Alicia. She actually took steps to save her marriage, not just lock Dexter in. She deserved her second shot.

A good story. I was beginning to think that Lit had finally managed to run off all of the good writers.

She should have told Dexter what happened. He probably wouldn’t like it, but he loves her enough to understand how she got caught up in the moment, WASN’T out looking to cheat, was TRULY remorseful, and , maybe most important, he was hearing it from HER, she wasn’t trying to hide it from him. LOL, HE said the same thing!

“but none of the guys ever touched any of the strippers” – That’s because the bachelor parties were at clubs where management could keep strict control over what went on. The bachelorette party was at a private home, where rules against touching were obviously easily ignored.

“Even in lieu of all their problems” – “In lieu of” means “Instead of”, I think you should simply say “Even WITH …..”.

Superbly written as usual in all ways. This points out that the opportunity of situations like this probably exist and happen routinely with the levels of destruction varying.

This writer always seems to hit with strong characters and story lines that many of us can relate to in some fashion, it makes him one of my favorites of all the options here!

For me, this was all about the fun of watching all hell break loose at the wedding and the consequences that followed. Slapstick comedy at its best!

because I remember the name. I went back to the submissions page and looked over the titles. I didn't recognize any right off hand. But this story was a good one. It was a decent length, adequately told the story, and had a lot of pathos. It's not a BTB plot, but it came close. Sometimes I like to see the wife really get burned, but then other times, I like for there to be reconciliation.

The only problem I see with your story is the one thing I harp on here... word usage problems. Let me list just three of glaring errors that should have been easily corrected:

As you can see, these were simple mistakes that a good going back and rereading again and again. Suggest you get someone else you trust to read it before posting it. Sometimes, we write a piece and we will skip over a mistake because of familiarity.

Anyway, I gave it 5 *'s because of the plot, which was unique, and the telling of the story.

It touches on a basic problem, trust, which usually absolutely necessary between partner. You have a hard time trusting someone but once you do, you rarely think about the trust failing (Yes, I know the watchword here, is trust but verify--- the problem is that someone catches you verifying......)

But the other problem, is a standard logic problem, "How do you prove a negative?"

For those commenters that stated the marriages that failed weren't strong or that the husbands that couldn't get past what happened at the party were bad men, well, everyone has certain things that they can't live with or in this case certain things that someone they love does that they can't live with. Each person has the right to live their lives as they see fit and most of us don't think that a blow job done on a stranger, at a party full of women is a defendable action. How could someone who has been faithful to their spouse be expected to overlook the fact that said spouse wasn't faithful? And it sure looked like the whole evening's activities were planned in advance. Wife took out money to pay for stripper, dressed provocatively for a girls party and then just opened up and Katie-bar-the-door on a used dick. I am pretty sure that I couldn't have gotten over it and I am also pretty sure that I would have told to wife and the "therapist" to suck it, too. But that's just me. The story could have been told more effectively in half the words. The plot was fine, but the dialog was stilted and the characterization needed some work.

I thought it flowed seamlessly and didn't need more character development. I could feel the emotion on the characters and that's no small feat. Really, truly liked this story.

The thing is...the thing is...I know saying this is going to be unpopular and God knows I wouldn't be happy, but a lot of these guys seem to be overreacting.

Would it be okay if it was just a one time fuck with a good looking guy they would never meet again? No. This is perilously close to the line (and the placement of the line is VERY personal). For example, I would probably be just as upset with my wife if she had an intimate dinner with someone she knew than if she kissed a strangers cock at a hen party. Neither are good but the former is much more a threat to the marriage.

You have to be a simpleton to buy the basic premise of this story! Seven women at a stag party giving one stripper a juxtaposed blow-job constituting marital infidelity/cheating sufficient to seek/demand/sue for divorce?? Perhaps to the 3% of devout Fundamentalist Christians - but hardly to the overwhelming majority of people on this planet. You might as well move the demarcation line just a smidgen further to the right and pronounce that kissing anyone on the cheek, other than family (and even that would be held suspiciously), in greeting or with birthday wishes or in celebration of Christmas also constitutes marital infidelity!

I challenge anyone to find 7 random people in a row who would all agree with that premise if asked. And so the uniform reaction of all seven husbands in the story is impossibly unrealistic and untenable.

The core issue between Dexter and Alicia wasn't really addressed by the hack.
