Click hereMarcus' troops began to clean up the last remnants of the fight when Marcus rode as fast as he could for the tower calling her name. Elwyn heard him calling for her but she kept firing till there were only about 20 arrows left in her quiver of the several hundred that she stared with. She took out each of the enemy archers before she paused to breathe and only Marcus could tell she was struggling merely to stay upright. She smiled at him and the last rays of sunlight caressed her auburn hair making it shine like brown amber. He called out to her
"Come to me Lover. Let us away." She disappeared into the tower and she ran down the stairs and out the bottom. She ran up and he grabbed her hand and pulled her up in front of him on Morgenstern. He pulled in the reigns and the horse sped out in front of the others, leading the way for the Calvary out of the villa. "Hold on!" he told her.
"I've been riding since before your grandfather was born" she said over her shoulder, smirking slightly at him. Her face was still paler then normal and she favored her right hand that was still cool to the touch, the blue mark still visible. She leaned back against him letting him support her and her eyes drifted closed as she moved with the horses movements. He wrapped his arm around her waist holding her tighter and pressed his face into the soft curve of her neck, taking a deep shuddering breath of relief.
Well what a letdown. A great and detailed story, however the ending was a quick “ and they all lived happily ever after”
Don’t bother with this one.
a quiver with several hundred arrows. Seems unlikely to me.
