I was hoping you would not go in this direction but you did. It sours the romance for me. I will stick around if you get them back together in part 4. Personally I would have had Trystan covertly watch the Mayor's place if insistence did not cow them in to allowing him to go along. Having Trystan come to the rescue before Ellia was molested would have been the romantic way and still served your purpose of exposing the Mayor for the rat he was.

If this is your first effort I hope you continue it. I enjoyed the reading.
