Nothing against your story but I hate reading about those stories where the best friend loves their best friend and refuse to tell them when they have the opportunity to do so. I know they don't want to humiliate themselves or risk the friendship but if they are best buds then they should be able to talk about the situation and move on instead of suffering seeing the person being with others.
