To critics, John's protracted internal conflict regarding his heritage is rather more realistic for most people. Any person with traumatic pasts or questionable origins aren't gonna be immediately fine with it, especially if that past conflicts with your ideals. Take for example a child of rape. I can't even begin to grapple with knowledge that one's existence is predicated on the intentional infliction of harm to someone who may or not still be in my life. John's inner conflict and sometimes indecisiveness around graplling with those inner demons so to speak is further reflective of the agony a person may have in pursuing risky operations for cancer or brain tumor. The surgery can save your life, or it can permanently kill you or change your personality.

I do feel Tefler does a decent enough job though. Honestly if there was some way to rework the plot to not have the sexual elements this would work as a more mainstream story.

I will say though the later chapters from what to call Manga plot explosions. Early chapters quickly handle plot arcs with few characters. As the character roster expands, the level of detail expands and the most recent published patron chapters are slow as heck. I call it Manga plot explosion because many popular anime and manga series have this same issue. In both One Piece and One Punch Man, recent stroy arcs concludes took multiple years to complete whereas previous arcs were considerably shorter, and in bith cases a considerable amount of time is spent away from the main character.

John talking to / counseling all the girls and future girls, ... and an anti-gravity orgy, wow, .... more nymphs than you can shake a stick at, ... The Invictus crew finishes with Tartarus, ... This was a good wind down chapter after the battle for Terra, ... ;-) ttfn
