FTDS is indeed an appropriate critique. I kind of liked Robin's character; he appears to be about the only part way normal person in the story. Story could also have been named "A Series of Ugly Events."

I, too, watch for seeing your pen name.

4* for the writing style. Robin needs to go find some humans to hang out with. His mother and everyone else are lizards.

A real dark story...No one is a likeable person...reminds me of an awesome Italian movie, called: "Ugly, Dirty and Bad" or "Down and Dirty". Now Sage escaped one dangerous job and found out another as dangerous: whore...4*

I love film noir, bringing that aesthetic to your writing is great. Nice seeing you expand and grow before graduating away from "school."

OK, call me a hopeless romantic idiot but I really wanted it to work out for them at the end. I know life isn't all rainbows and butterflies, but every now and then God smiles and love really does happen. I could have lived with these two finding love as they were good for each other, until the end of the story that is. Oh well, you did warn that it was a dark story.

Quite a stretch for you, and done so darkly that I almost gave up after page 2, but kept chugging on to the end.

Like others have said, I too was sad that Sage couldn't get it together. At least Robin seemed like a decent guy, somehow growing up strong in spite of his fucked-up parentage. Here's hoping that someday he finds "the one" somewhere in bayou country.... ;-)

yeah your stories do jump around a bit but at least there's always plenty going on instead of endless paragraphs on school, college, most beautiful girl ever blah blah fucking blah

about all I can say about the characters within is that every one of them deserves to be shot in the head

I've read several of this author's LW stories. I just find them to be unsatisfying. I realize he strives to be somewhat obtuse in the endings. But after a few offerings the lack of some form of a conclusion gets old.

The stories often ramble through one or more generation and/or multiple marriages til the ending bears little connection with the beginning.

I know he is favored by many readers. But for me as a reader I don't feel involved.

This good of been good but due to no real ending was very underwhelming.

Good but sad story, was really hoping for a happy ending though I supposed Robin not having an unhappy ending with a cheating slut will suffice. 5 stars.

Ugh. Really surprised that while Robin seems well adjusted his mother is a total alcoholic and help instigate Sage's betrayal. Would have liked to see Robin happy. Not everything should be ugly and dark.
