crazymike453 months agoMichigan has always had liberal firearm carry laws and self defense laws follow the castle doctrine. The MC had a good job and could afford a firearm and training or a Taser. He was a useless loser and let his wife get in a situation where he could not protect her. His fault. This MC had no redeeming value. By the way, I lived in Michigan just south of Detroit and the people of Polish descent I knew were not cowards. Wirt would have been lucky to get away alive but crippled for life.

Then the linebacker of old appears, a zero-level situation is puffed up into "a rock and a hard place", stupidity is loosed by the bucketful, the plotline goes flat, and the entire rest of the story dribbles out onto the ground. Having already read several dozen times the part about the linebacker fucking the loving wife, I came here to write this. O, well...
doctrpt10 months agoToo many convenient holes. She lies, was enjoying the screwing from the brute. The MC was a constant loser with no redeeming qualities. And the wife set up the MC by insisting on the date, because she wanted the screwing and free from the wimp. No mace, no stun gun for the confrontation, slow friends on the calls. Utter nonsense.

Announcing before the story started that Janet was going to remain a faithful wife certainly removed a lot of potential tension and drama before I started reading.
The clear communication between husband and wife was refreshing. But, again it removed a lot of potential emotion and tension from the story.
As much as I love this author I'd have to call this a good story rather than the typically excellent stories I've read previously.
BlueEyd2about 1 year agoWhy wasn't she prepared for him drugging her drink and why didn't the bartender stop them from leaving if he obsererved him drugging her. Why wern't the cops called right away by the bartender? And why wasn't hubby better prepared to confront Wirt like having his own Asp.
