...very reminiscent of Asimov and Heinlein.
It does have those 1960-70 classic sci-fi short fiction themes. I just wish the author made some attempt at the end to get back in contact with her fan. Not saying they get together for a meeting of minds and live happily ever after. Or even that she is successful in reaching him and connecting again. Just that she made the attempt, would have made this a more uplifting story. But I can see how that would be a little counter to the ending but not by much I don't think. Ruminating on the themes of decadence over true love is fine. Having the protagonist trying to change would be a happy ending. I empathize with her and that makes me feel like I made a mistake and missed out.
