Homophones

These are words that are pronounced exactly the same but are spelled differently and have different definitions and uses.

An example would be 'to, too and two'. When reading "Waking Up to a Dream Come True", I read the phrase "both of us moving together in the throws of our orgasms". This is where the word throes is used. Throws is one of many things a pitcher does to or with a baseball. Throes is a word that is not often seen in print. Because of this, many people don't know that the word throes even exists.
