You change the names between Carrie and cassie and it's a little confusing but other than that it is incredible!!!

affect and effect, effectively misused affectedly?

Cassie/Carrie already discussed. Both problems bother me the most in a story. (and there are others) Otherwise, this was well written story, and - while I am not a fan of multi-part stories - I could be persuaded to read another chapter.

This would be a much better read if you'd go back and edit out Carrie and replace with Cassie....
