Workplace Love Ch. 01

"Yes Chrissy just what is it?"

"I don't know," I replied perching on the table alongside her our upper arms and hips touching. "Do you?"

"Quite frankly no I don't. I have never had such feelings about another woman, have you?"

"Never, hardly ever had them about men either, only Paul probably."

"What are they like for you?"

"The feelings."

"Yes what you feel about me?"

I paused. I didn't want to sound silly or like a teenager and I didn't want, I guess to reveal my hand before she had hers, although really was rather silly.

"Chrissy?" she asked resting her hand on the back of mine on the table.

I couldn't look at her and I mumbled. "I er, um, oh Sarah."

"Let me help," she volunteered.

"Yes, ok, please."

Looking into her wine glass and avoiding my gaze she said softly. "I think I am in love with you Chrissy."

"Oh my god, yes darling, yes that's how I feel too."

"Can two straight women fall in love?" she asked stroking her finger in little circles on the back of my hand.

"Yes I think so and I think we have."

"But Chrissy what about Paul in all of this?"

"I don't know, but he said he wouldn't mind."

"Mind what?"

Without thinking or remembering that we had not discussed sex I blurted out. "Us making love."

"Is that what you want Christina?" Sarah asked quietly.
