That was the first time Isabella called me that. Ever. "I doubt six minutes really qualifies me for that term, but I'll take it. Are you going to be okay?" She nodded and wiped the tears from her face. I let go of our embrace and went back to cuddle with Brooke. "Good night, little sister."
"Hey," Isabella objected. Even though she called me big brother, a term she meant in the protective connotations of the phrase, I knew what I said would bother her. She didn't like the thought of being lessor than me. What kind of brother would I be if I didn't tease her just a little? But she surprised me as that one word was her only objection as she then replied, "Goodnight Heartache."
For some reason that name didn't bother me anymore. Perhaps we all grew up a little during this spring break.
No real obstacles, plus guys in high school, and especially ones who have been tortured, teased, and bullied for years, are this well adjusted. He was the least believable of the characters…
Still, a decent read - I enjoyed it.
If the author reads this, please write a sequel with the/new relationship(s) in school, new beginnings and all that. This definitely needs more! 10/5 stars
Very nice story. If you ever write a sequel, you should focus on Isabella finding love with another nerd. It'd be pretty to sweet read.
