I am not sure you've caught this, but I am a woman, a feminist, a mother, a wife, a girl, a daughter, a sister, a cousin, a chick, a friend, etc. I am also from an area of the US where guy/girl is completely interchangeable with man/woman. I also write a lot and get tired of using the same words over and over and over.

I found this comment offensive in that you immediately took my use of the word "girl" as my trying to write underage erotica, a subject I am vehemently against in every form, being that I am a mother and all. In fact, the women in the stories that I have posted on lit are ages 27, 23, and 87. I may talk about how they look "young" etc, but by no means am I trying to portray them as children. My use of the word "girl" is far less offensive than practically everything I've seen in some categories on lit.

I could not believe someone taking offence to the word girls. Seriously? Plenty of people still call me "girl" and nobody thinks I'm underage! Good response though! I totally agree.
