She opened the bottle of lotion she brought with her and moistened her skin with a thin layer. She breathed in the scent and hoped Avery would like it. The weather had at last broken. Their quiet town had been buried under twenty-one inches of snow. Mika could hear machines outside clearing the snow from the roads. She unfolded the towel from her body and opened one of the bags she asked Avery to bring in for her. She wanted to wear the pink set of undergarments for their first time together, but she instead chose to put on the "surprise" she recently purchased. It was a very light blue color. It was also the first time she ever bought anything other than panties. The bottoms were a thong. They were soft and lacy. She slid them on carefully. Astoundingly, they were comfortable to her. Beyond comfortable to her. She put on the bra and then took her shirt she brought just for this evening. It was a similar shade of blue. She slipped on a pair of black yoga pants.

She sat on the bed and started painting her nails. When she was finished, they were colored light blue, save for the ring fingers on each hand, which she painted yellow. She brushed her hair for at least ten minutes, doing her best to get every strand in place. She wanted it to be perfect. She felt the most attractive she had ever felt in her life. She picked up her phone and responded back to the few people she had been ignoring since her time with Avery began. They included her mother, who was wondering when her daughter was going to be home for the holiday season. And also Janelle and Maggie, who were worried that their roommate had been stranded in the snowstorm. Mika covered her tracks well, telling them that she was over a girlfriend's apartment and decided to stay when the weather got bad.

After tonight, though, the roads were at least drivable and she decided that she should stop spending the night with Avery for now. It was probably too much, too soon. Not that she was growing tired of spending time with him. Far from it, in fact. She valued her independence and she wanted to be able to come and go as she pleased. But for now, she wanted to spend time with him. She sat up and walked out of the office, finding her way to the kitchen where Avery sat at the table with his computer open. He was typing away at it. She stood at the entrance.

"Did you finally hear from Jenna?" she asked, feeling some of the wind leave her sails.

"Yeah. She said they lost power for a few days so she couldn't get a message out," he responded, still tapping away at the computer. He looked over at her and was stunned to see how gorgeous she was.

"You look great," he said, trying to finish up his response to Jenna. There was not much in the way of passion in this message. Just a quick hello and exchange of thoughts reminiscent on her. Mika did not respond to his compliment, but she did not stay quiet. She felt jealousy swell inside of her. Without even thinking, words just left her mouth.

"After they finish clearing the roads, I think I'm going to go back to my apartment. I still need to finish packing before I go home for Christmas," she said. Avery stopped typing when he heard those words. He looked over to her with a sad demeanor.

"I was hoping you would stay a little longer," he pleaded.

"I just think it might be best if I leave. I really have enjoyed being with you but I don't want to overstay my welcome. I'm sure we'll have more time together after I get back," she said. Avery did not reply. Mika said the thing he did not want to admit or hear but knew was coming nonetheless. She would eventually leave and he would be alone. Mika, feeling that her words were colder than she intended them to be, spoke again.

"I am having a great time with you. Getting to know you has been magical. And I am happy that I got to be here with you. I just don't want to get my hopes up, you know?" Mika said. She could not believe the words escaping her mouth. She was not at all saying what she truly meant. She wanted to say how much she liked Avery and that she wanted to come back after Christmas and be with him again. She wanted their last night together to be as dreamlike as the rest of the weekend. Instead, she found herself growing cross and irritated.

"Yeah, it's been nice," he responded, sitting up and closing his computer. "But I will be happy after the holidays when Jenna gets back," he spoke with a hurtful tone. He walked out of the kitchen and went into the living room. Mika turned away from him to hide the tears building in her eyes as she tried not to take his words personally. But how could she not? He sat down on the couch where the two of them had pleased each other and he turned on the television, trying to get his attention off of Mika. For their last night together, things had gone so terribly wrong.

Mika turned around and walked into the office and quietly shut the door. She walked over to the bed and lied down, pulling up the pillow and curling into a ball. Tears flowed freely from her eyes. She wanted to take back what she said. She wondered what Avery thought of her. Did he still feel the way he felt the night before or had things gone back to the way they were before? She would never truly have Avery to herself as long as Jenna was in the picture. And no matter how hard Mika tried, she cried frenziedly because she was so envious of Jenna. And whatever chance she might have with Avery, had been reduced to the two of them simply hooking up. She convinced herself that that was all it was, and she closed her eyes and did her best to keep her blazing affection for Avery from overtaking her common sense.

Mika stayed in the office the entire day. They made no attempt to talk. He was so confused by everything that happened between them. And this is exactly what he did not want to happen. He thought the two of them would not let things get awkward between them. He thought they would stay friends through all of their physical encounters. But what did he expect? You can only be with someone so many times before you realize they either mean nothing to you or everything to you. And while Avery was not ready to commit to everything, he was more than prepared to say that Mika meant something. He had cheated on Jenna again. And no amount of begging or pleading or understanding would fix their relationship if she found out. And yet, Avery almost wanted her to. He wanted to tell Jenna himself so she would end it. So he could drop to his knees in front of Mika and tell her everything she wanted to hear. That he felt the same way she did.

Avery sighed heavily and went into the kitchen. He picked up the chopsticks Mika had given him the night before. He took them in his hands as she taught him and began to move them up and down. As he did this, Mika opened the door to the office and stormed her way to the front door. Her bag was packed. She slipped on her pink boots and tossed on her heavy jacket. She did not say a single word. When she opened the door, her face was blasted by a heavy gust. The snow may have stopped, but the wind chill was so strong, it would be difficult for her to walk in it. But that is what she intended to do: walk the nearly two miles in almost three feet of snow to her apartment. She just did not want to be there. She did not want to be with someone who did not want her to be there.

She left her car in the driveway and started on the path to the road. She stomped the ground beneath her, taking out her frustrations with each step. She wiped her face as tear after tear fell with each foot she moved away from his apartment. As she reached the road, she stopped to see where the bike path was. She started walking along it. She was so wounded that she could barely hear Avery calling her name from behind her. He chased after her in the snow. When she heard him, she stopped out of courtesy rather than emotion. He finally caught up with her, his legs freezing as he was covered in snow. He did not even bother to put on a coat. He had time only to tie up his boots.

"I don't want you to leave. I can't let you just walk away like this," he said, looking her in the face. Mika balled her hands up and took a step away from him.

"Why? You got what you wanted from me. Like you said, Jenna will be back soon and then you won't have to feel sorry for me anymore," she replied loudly.

"I don't feel sorry for you. I feel lucky to have found you," he responded, trying to take her hand in his. She snatched it back and took another step away from him.

"Don't touch me. You don't get to touch me ever again," she screamed at him.

"Why? Yesterday you couldn't get enough of it. We were happy together. What the hell happened?"

"We? There is no we! I was weak and I allowed myself to think there could be something between us. There was never going to be a future between us. But you got what you wanted out of me anyway. I let you do those things to me because I was stupid. I should have stayed away from you," she turned around and started walking again.

"Is that what you think? That I used you to get off?" She turned around abruptly.

"You tell me what you would call it. You have all the answers, right? Tell me how I should feel right now."

"I don't know how you should feel, but you shouldn't assume you know how I feel, either," he snapped back.

"Fine. Then how do you feel?"

"Fortunate. Because you did choose to be with me. Because once you realize you can have anyone you want, you will. I did what I did because I wanted to. Not because I was lonely or you were available. Because I want to believe there might actually be some kind of future between us. But you don't. You already knew exactly how far you were willing to go and that even if you did feel something for me, we couldn't work out. If you want to go, then go. But I wasn't the one to make you leave," he yelled as he turned around to walk back to his apartment. He was done trying to convince Mika that they could be together. He was so angry that he could not even feel the ice underneath him. His foot slipped forward and he fell back into the snow. Something rough and jagged thumped against the back of his head. Before he knew it, he found himself on the ground, freezing and looking up at a vacant sky. There were no stars. Just a black void. Blackness, cold, and an excruciating headache. Mika dropped to her knees next to him as he started to move again.

"Are you okay?" she cried, slowly lifting his head from the snow.

"That really hurt. Be careful. There's ice under here," he replied, trying to remember his name or the date. But the pain was keeping him from recollecting.

"Here, let me help you," she said as she put her hand underneath his head to try to lift him from the ground. As she tried, Avery groaned in pain. She stopped and gently put him back onto the ground, moving her hand from the back of his head. As she did, she noticed a sizeable amount of blood in her palm.

"I'm just gonna relax. Just take a minute here," he said, waiting for the pain in his head to subside.

"You can't stay here. You're bleeding, Avery," she said, scared of the potential damage he had suffered.

"Just let me bleed," he said, shaking his head to find a less painful position. Mika fell closer to him, rubbing his cheek with her clean hand.

"I'm so scared, Avery."

"Scared of what?"

"Of what it will mean for us if I tell you how I feel."

"Are you scared that I won't feel the same way or that I will?"

"I don't know. Just scared. If you don't, then these past few days have been a waste and if you do, that means I have come between you and Jenna. Either way, I'll only end up feeling bad," she said as she felt tears fall from her eyes. The wind caused them to chill against her face.

"Mika, you're worrying too much. I chose to do what I did with you knowing it would affect Jenna and me. And I don't regret it, either. But I didn't use you. If you need proof of that, me lying here bleeding in the snow with no jacket after having to chase after you should be evidence enough," he said, slowly rolling over to his side. He sat up, looking her in the face as best he could.

"You don't have to tell me how you feel. I know because I feel the same way."

After half an hour or so, Mika was able to help Avery make his way back to his apartment. She ran into the bedroom and took the heavy navy blue comforter from it and tossed it onto the couch. She leaned down in front of him and helped him remove his wet clothes. He was stripped down to nothing but his boxers. Mika put the comforter over his freezing body.

"I'll be right back," she said. She walked into the kitchen and filled a sandwich bag with cubes of ice and wrapped a hand towel around it. She returned and put it on the back of his head, hoping it would help with the pain.

"I'm sorry," she said, holding it against his head. "I'm no good at this sort of thing. Being emotional, I mean."

"Things happened between us Mika. We can't turn back. So let's just stop trying to and just be glad we found each other," he said, shaking wildly.

"Okay. Then I won't be afraid anymore," she said. "So, where do we go from here?"

"I go lie down in bed. And you join me."

"Okay. Let's do it."

DAWN OF THE FOURTH DAY; EVERYTHING I HOPED IT WOULD BE

Mika woke up first, feeling Avery's warm body snoozing next to her. She was still wearing her clothes from the previous night. She could see the sun rising through the bedroom window. She turned to the man next to her. She rubbed his cheek with her hand. He began to awaken from her touch. Mika leaned over to him and kissed his lips faintly.

"Good morning," she whispered, staying close to him.

"Good morning beautiful," he moaned quietly. She felt herself blush. "What time is it?"

"It's early. The sun is just now coming up," she answered, looking at the expression on his face. "How does your head feel?"

"It's a little tender but I'll live." He leaned to kiss her hand. She felt whatever connection they had solidify in that moment. She knew that she had found someone truly special to her.

"Thank you for coming after me last night. I feel terrible that you slipped," she said, propping herself above him with her elbow.

"It's okay. It really doesn't hurt as much as it did last night," he responded, stretching himself out in the bed. Mika began to rub his forehead with her delicate fingertips.

"Did you mean it when you said you felt the same way as me?" she asked.

"I know it sounds ridiculous because we've only known each other for about a week," he answered.

"Things are moving so fast between us. I don't know if that's normal or not. It reminds me of my first roommate when I was living on campus. She used to bring guys back to our room all the time. And she would always have sex with them. I got so tired of having to go to a study hall. But secretly, I was pretty envious of her. Jenna reminds me a little of her. She had that same kind of demeanor. And I felt like girls like that would always get the guys I wanted," she confessed to him.

"I understand the feeling. I was luckier than anything else that Jenna decided to entertain the notion of being with me at all. She's like you. Jenna could have any guy that she wanted."

"Why do you think I could have any guy I wanted?"

"Because you can. Once you realize how beautiful you truly are, both inside and out, you will realize what an amazing person you are and how lucky any man would be to have such a great girl like you," he answered. Mika leaned down to him, hovering just above his lips.

"Avery?" she spoke as he turned his head to face her.

"Yes Mika?" he replied, opening his eyes.

"I want you," she whispered to him, finally admitting her true feelings.

"And I want you," he responded, putting his hand on her cheek. She took it in hers and closed her eyes as she felt some tears weld up. She leaned down and kissed him gently, at last succumbing to her emotions. Avery kissed back, pulling her on top of him. Draped on him, their tongues caressed one another until Mika felt Avery's hands moving slowly up her body. She sat up and watched as he elevated her shirt. She lifted her arms for him and let him do away with it. She removed her hair tie and tossed it with her shirt to the floor. She went back down onto him, kissing him again. She felt his hands go up her back to the clasps on her bra. She grew uneasy as she felt him undo it. Still, she leaned forward and let the garment fall from her body, unveiling her perfectly shaped tits. Avery put his hands on them and lightly squeezed them as they continued to kiss. Mika was growing worried of the direction their embrace was leading. She was irresolute if she was ready for what she believed Avery wanted. And her fears were only worsened when she felt Avery's hands slip into her yoga pants, pulling them down.

She did not stop him. He managed to get them to her knees before she had to sit up and finish removing them. She fell back down on top of him and resumed kissing him, mimicking the actions his tongue was taking. He lightly moved the tip of it around her lips as he took a hold of her panties and began to pull them down. Mika's eyes opened as she monitored his movements. Once he made them go as far as he could, he moved his hands to her naked butt, lightly gripping and squeezing it. Mika relaxed and kept kissing him, trying to decide whether she wanted to continue. She knew that if the rest of their clothes came off, they would not just lick and suck each other. She respired loudly and took her panties down the rest of the way, kicking them to the end of the bed. Avery moved his hands underneath him and removed his boxers, putting them with her underwear. He took Mika in his hands and pulled her on top of him. She helped him, spreading her legs to fit around his waist. She was petrified as he kissed her again, for she could feel how hard he was underneath her. And how wet she was through all of her apprehension. Avery broke the kiss.

"We can stop," he said, keeping his hands on her small waist. Mika looked down at Avery.

"Do it," she requested, letting go of her inhibitions and fears. Avery took his cock in his hand and began to rub it against the outside of her wet hole. She lifted herself a bit so she could position herself over it. Then, bravely, she lowered herself. The head pressed inside of her. Mika had never had anything wider than his fingers within her. She had to bite her bottom lip to keep from shouting out loud. She moved down a little farther, feeling her pussy stretch to accommodate his girth. Avery lifted up each time she pushed down, helping her take him in. Minutes later, Mika managed to take Avery's cock entirely. She could feel him all the way to her stomach. She had never felt so filled before. Avery put his hands on her waist and slowly rocked her back and forth. She gave him full control of her body. His cock massaged places inside of her tight pussy that she did not even know existed. As the sun began to rise in the room, their two shadows formed against the wall.

Mika lightly moved her hips with Avery's actions, moaning out loud for him as she felt him deep inside of her. She sat up all the way, taking control of the movement. Her tight body on display for Avery to enjoy, she began to rock her hips back and forth, each time feeling the head of his long dick about to push into her cervix. She found that to be too much for her to handle, so she tried not to let him go much deeper than he already was. Each time she moved forward, she felt the slight curvature of Avery's cock press against her spot. It guided gentle waves of ecstasy through her body. She let her head fall back as her pussy passionately milked Avery's cock. She had no idea if she was any good at what she was doing, but she did not really care at that moment. All she cared about was how big and hard Avery was and how much she wanted it.
