The West Wing is also a reference, in chap 5. I watched the Disney movie recently, it was my favorite when I was a kid. Anyway, he forbids her to enter the West Wing, that is where his portrait is and where the enchanted rose is.

I do love the power play, but I still can't wait for her to demand to see her friends. It's almost too barbaric how much control he takes.

I felt like his change came on a bit too sudden. It made my head spin.

could you try and think through the plot a bit more .If someone has pictures stacked of you in their rooms then why on earth would she think he didn't like her ??? Also what kind of a man wouldn't allow her to go see her dying mother !!

It's story like that make women think that staying with a abusive man is worth thinking they can change him into something better in real life we would be telling her to get the fuck away from him
