"So..." Michelle looked at him expectantly.
Brody's eyes narrowed in confusion.
Michelle smiled. "So..."
"What?"
Michelle sighed and rolled her eyes in defeat. "So when am I going to see you again?"
Brody looked surprised. "You want to see me again?"
"Yes."
"Umm... Any time is good for me, really. What about you? What's the next day you have free?"
"Wednesday, but I was going to go shopping at the mall for clothes."
"Well, I can go with you."
Michelle gave a slightly uncomfortable laugh. "Umm... that wasn't an invitation."
"You just said you wanted to do something with me..."
"And I do. I just don't know if I want to go clothes shopping with you."
"Why not?"
"I..."
"I can give you the male perspective on things."
"The male perspective?" she asked skeptically.
"Yeah?"
"Fine," she gave in. "Umm... I'll call you. What's your number?"
He told her his, and she told him hers.
"Well, I have to go," she said. "I'll see you Wednesday."
"Yeah. Bye."
"Bye."
She left. He thanked the God he didn't believe in.
A rather unusual choice of main character for a romance yet it gives him a certain flair that makes it so very intriguing. Michelle doesn't seem the usual kind girl as knows her own value so this should be a really fun ride to observe. The sow pace only makes it better so in that regard I have noting to add. Hope to see a continuation soon.
I kind of like cynical guys. Especially in stories. It is extremely tiring that the MC guy in most of these stories are either way too extremely nice or just an absolute putz. This makes a nice change of pace and I can't wait to read more.
