OK, making Mariah Bill Gates' attorney and investor is just ridiculously over the top, totally unnecessary to the storyline.

I can see how...possibly...April could be technically charged with complicity in her father's crimes schemes, but I would think very few prosecutors would want to actually bring charges against someone so clearly a victim, and she would have good chances of acquittal if they did. So for the attorney to advise her to accept what is in effect a plea agreement in lieu of prosecution is stupid and not in her best interest.
