Why does the office go out for drinks, sit at a table across the room except for this one lone wolf?

Why is he not sitting at the table with his co-workers, or is being rude hos natural state? Hard to find a woman who thinks ignoring everyone is sexy.

Not sure why you need to "find a taxi that would take us." With taxis, it's first up, first out. Difficult to refuse a fare.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate that I didn’t do a good enough job of setting the scene to begin with to explain that he’s not supposed to be standing apart from the group the entire time, just at the bar for a few minutes getting a drink.

As for the taxi, that’s just what I’m used to. A lot near me will happily refuse a fare if there’s any risk they’ll have to clean up after you.

Both notes are things I should take on board as, even though I know exactly what’s going on, I’ve caused unnecessary confusion among readers.
