I'm sure the writing police will pick this apart more. But, rather than pick it apart, I enjoyed it. It has the 'ring of truth' to it more than something written so 'properly' that there aren't any mistakes; it sounded real rather than just written by a 'writer.'

The way the MIL is bitching about not having sex was almost humorous. The only way it could have been MORE awkward would be if she called sex "the sex" the way squares say 'the drugs' or 'the marijuana'. As in: "My husband always wanted 'the sex', but 'the sex' was painful. I had a hard time lubricating for 'the sex', and so my vagina was dry. For 'the sex'."
