And the sensations he felt within his Libido were equally amazing. If he knew how to slip out of his body, to experience nothing but the metaphysical, he'd enjoy himself no less.

"God, that feels sooo good," his sister moaned as she pressed his face to her bosom.

Her voice, so deep and husky compared to Patty's, made his balls tingle. It didn't matter that her words were no different from those spoken by countless other women, countless other times. Simply listening to Veronica talk like that would have been enough to make him hard, had he needed any help getting there.

The second Nick used Patty's broad hips as handles while he pistoned in and out of her, moving faster than a mortal man could have. Every now and then, he'd let go long enough to slap her big ass. It was so round and perfectly shaped that his mind refused to believe that it barely rippled, but indeed it did. He couldn't understand how there could bo so little fat on ass that big. Truthfully, he'd have preferred a little more softness. But there was no denying that Patty's ass was fucking amazing.

As hard as he found it to believe that Patty's ass didn't jiggle more when spanked, he found it even harder to believe how impossibly tiny her waist was. A girl with a lower body that thick, hips that broad, should have had a thicker waist. Hell, no woman should be able to boast a waist that thin, no matter what her proportions. Patty's waist was less than half the circumference of her hips. It was both surreal and incredibly, overpoweringly, attractive.

Granted, her breasts could have been bigger. Whereas a man without Nick's preoccupation with huge breasts would have said Patty's were perfect, he couldn't help wishing she had a little more to play with. Yes, they were a healthy handful, and yes, given her diminutive height and narrow waist, they looked even bigger than they were. But they just didn't match the sublime glory of her legs and ass. In that department, her sister clearly had her beat, and not by a small margin.

Actually, both of her sisters did, but Annie didn't really count. It was Veronica that concerned him most at just the moment. At most any moment.

Though he hadn't intended to do so, Nick realized that Veronica was getting a better performance from him than Patty was. Practiced as he was getting to be in wearing two bodies, his one mind focused more on the one sister than the other. He was no more active with his body, but he was gracefully and skillfully working Veronica's Libido, alternately elevating and muting her sensitivity. She was very near climax, whereas Patty was only just starting to really get into it.

Nick considered addressing the imbalance. Redirecting his focus. But only briefly. Instead, he devoted even more energy to Veronica, hoping to finish her off.

Just as he heard the door open, Veronica erupted in a powerful climax.

"Well," Eric said, "isn't this a party."

"Feel free to join," one of him said.

Or maybe he only thought it. The deluge of energy pouring into him as Veronica's body spasmed made it hard to think straight.

"Didn't come here for that," Eric said.

Nick heaved a disappointed sigh, collapsed into one body, and stumbled away from the couch. With a thought, he cleaned up the sweat and other secretions then clothed himself.

"Rotten fucking timing," Patty mumbled.

Veronica gave her sister a lazy smile, eyes glazed over in a euphoric haze.

"You guys should listen too," Eric said as he strode past the king-sized bed.

Patty muttered something to herself while Veronica slowly and unsteadily got to her feet.

Soon, the four of them sat on the balcony, looking out over the battlements of Castle Hardt. They sipped tea and coffee and waited for Eric to tell them whatever it was that he'd come to say. After how abruptly he'd interrupted their lovemaking, Nick expected his brother to be more forthcoming. But the hulking brute sat in uncharacteristic silence for a time, watching the sea below as though it was his first time seeing it.

Finally, just as Nick sensed that Veronica was about to lose her patience and demand that Eric spit it out, their brother said, "They're going to take our children."

The girls gasped in unison.

"What?" Nick asked.

Eric covered his brow with his hand, as if trying to shield his eyes from the midday sun, even though it was well into the evening and very nearly sunset.

"Who is?" Veronica demanded.

Nick gave his sister a look that implored her to back off. She glowered back at him indignantly but said not another word.

It took Eric awhile to get going, but it wasn't a long tale to tell.

"Fuck that," Veronica said.

"No," Patty said, shaking her head. She looked like someone whose lover had just died in her arms, blue eyes wide and watery but her face otherwise impassive. "No, no, no."

"You're sure she wasn't just fucking with your mother?" Nick asked.

It was no secret that Gabriela and Zoey had never gotten along too well, and that their mutual animosity had only grown worse since Wes had died.

Eric drew a deep breath. "Could be. But I don't think so."

"How can you be sure?" Veronica asked.

Nick winced. He almost reached over and laid a hand atop his sister's, but her anger was burning hot enough at the moment that it was best to keep his distance.

"He can't be," Nick said. "But it makes sense."

Veronica whipped her head from left to right. "What does that mean?"

"Think about it," he said. She was smarter than this. Smarter than him. But her critical thinking skills had taken a back seat to her maternal instincts. All she knew was that there was a threat to her unborn child. She'd do whatever she had to defend against it. Small wonder then if she sounded a bit defensive. "We knew it couldn't be this easy. Grandma's been saying it for days. The Eternal Garden wouldn't take Summer under its wing in exchange for nothing more than the flattery of having us kneel before them."

His one sister continued to stare daggers at him, while the other kept up her rather convincing impression of a woman who was so grief stricken that she'd lost all hold on reality. Knees hugged to her chest, Patty rocked back and forth in her chair, muttering to herself over and over again that this couldn't be happening.

"It's just until they come of age," Eric said.

"Oh, is that all!" Veronica snapped.

"They can't," Patty said. Suddenly lucid, she looked Nick in the eye and said, "Promise me, Nick." Turning to her other brother, she said, "Eric. Don't let them do this. Swear to me that you won't let them do this."

"I sw-" Eric began.

Nick cut him off with a look.

"We've gone to war with one king already," he said. "In case anyone's forgotten, we needed our father to take that one out. Does anyone here think we can stand against him?"

No response came. Not even from Eric.

"So what are you saying?" Veronica asked.

"That we do what we have to," Eric replied for him.

"Exactly," Nick said.

"No," Patty said. She grabbed each of her brother's by the wrist, one with each hand. "Please. There has to be another way."

"It'll only be one," Eric said tentatively, as if dreading the response this would elicit.

Patty ignored him. For her part, Veronica snorted derisively and looked away.

"Dad knows," Nick told his sister. "He's no fool. And if he knows, he approves. And if he approves, he'll expect us to comply."

"Why don't you go suck his dick?" she snapped. "I bet he'll really appreciate that!"

"Vee," he said softly.

"Fuck you, Nick," she said. "Why don't you grow a pair?" Then, turning to Eric, she said, "You should be king. You know you should. So does your mother. We all do."

Eric held up his hands in protest. "Sorry, Vee," he said. "I'm with Nick."

Veronica's chair tumbled over as she bolted upright. She gave each of her brothers a disgusted look than stormed back inside the castle.

"You're right," Patty said, tears streaming down her face. "We can't defy our father. We can't...they can't...can't just...." Whatever else she had to say, it was rendered incomprehensible by her sobbing.

"She'll calm down eventually," Nick assured his brother.

"You sure?"

"It's not like they're going to take them away forever," he said.

"If they were, we'd have to fight," Eric said. "Nevermind how strong our father is."

"Agreed," Nick said, staring through the sliding glass door into the quarters he shared with Veronica. There was no sign of her.

"It'd be suicide though," Eric added. "For a certainty."

"He really is that strong, huh?" Nick asked. No one would know better than Eric.

His brother nodded.

"Shit," Nick replied.

"I've been training as hard as I can," Eric continued. "I'm a lot stronger, and more disciplined, today than I was when he took the throne. But even so, I don't think for a second that I could take him. Not even with all of you to back me up."

"Grandma Flori-"

"Will tell you this isn't worth risking our lives over," Eric said.

And he was right. She would.

But if the day came that had to rise up against the king, she would be a powerful asset. Nick had never seen her let loose, but he didn't need to. Simply being in her presence was enough to tell him that she was nearly as strong as his father was.

"Let's not forget about Nina either," Eric reminded him.

Nick swore under his breath again. From what Eric had said about the battle with Phil, their aunt was a force to be reckoned with in her own right. If they could somehow separate the two, they just might stand a chance. But even with his grandmother's help, they couldn't hope to go up against he combined strength of House Fisher. And that was leaving aside their children and cousins and so forth. It wouldn't even matter if Mike fought on their side, or what Annie would do. Their father and his sister, together, were all but unstoppable.

"So we each of us cross our fingers and hope they don't take our kid?" Nick said.

"Looks like," Eric whispered. He stared off into the distance, looking numb.

Patty's sobs turned to wails.

"I'm getting awfully tired of this," Kurt told his mother. He covered the ears of the stupid Summer slut sucking his cock and put a little energy into the effort of sealing off her hearing. "The whole damn fucking day, we've been disrespected by these lesser immortals."

"I know, dear," his mother said, coming up behind him. Her hand rested on his back, the tips of her fingers lightly brushing his neck. "But we've only just arrived."

"That's bullshit," he said.

The girl on her knees, some newly initiated Bravo, didn't even know how to fellate him properly. Not only had he needed to remind her of what to call them, she didn't even know how to pleasure a man.

"We shouldn't have to put up with this."

"And we won't," his mother assured him. "Not for long."

With a sigh, he retrieved his cock from the girl's mouth, beckoned her to her feet with a gesture of his hand, and restored her hearing. "Go," he said.

"I do something wrong?" she asked, before tacking on a perfunctory, "Illuminated One."

"Actually, yes. That was incredibly fucking disappointing, to be honest."

She looked like she was going to cry.

"Oh, for fuck's sake," he said, turning his back to her. "Get out of my sight."

Part of him thought that he should have slapped her. Another part recoiled at the thought. What was he becoming? He was purebred. Sunlit. Illuminated. Better than the children of Summer. But the girl didn't know any better. By the way her lower lip had trembled and her knees buckled whenever he looked at her, he thought she just might have cut off her left arm and given it to him as a present, if she'd thought it would please him. And that from a damned Bravo. They were supposed to be the proudest of houses. Granted, they'd suffered a hard fall of late, but even so. It wouldn't be right to punish her.

"Let me make it up to you," she said.

"Forget it," he said, voice softer. "Ask one of your brothers to explain what you're doing wrong, do better next time, and this will never have happened."

"Thank you, Illuminated One," she said.

"No be gone with you," Kurt said.

He didn't bother to turn around. The sound of her footfalls told him that she obeyed. He watched his mother's eyes follow the girl across the courtyard.

"She'll find her way out," he said.

With a thought, he simplified the path to the temple's entrance.

His mother gave him a sympathetic look as she pressed her hands to his chest. "You shouldn't let it get to you so. This world doesn't matter. Neither do any of the insignificant little whelps that populate it. We'll do as we were told until we please the ancients, and then we'll go home. Be among our own kind again. And you can put a child," she took one of his hands and pressed it to her belly, "inside me."

"What will it take to please them anyway?" he asked.

She didn't reply.

"You know, don't you?"

A nod.

"Why won't you tell me?"

"I don't want you to get discouraged," she said.

Kurt let out a deep breath.

Those that didn't think they were still friends had behaved like high school drama students in a play for which they hadn't rehearsed adequately. There were a certain fearful reverence, an understanding that it was important for them to get their lines right, but they couldn't have been any more poorly prepared to do so. That was better than if they'd mocked him to his face, but only by so much.

And Patty?

She'd been better than her brother, sure, but Eric had always been an asshole. How could she have moved on so quickly? From Kurt's point of view, it had only been a few days since they'd parted ways, and already another man's child grew inside her.

He realized that it had been longer here, but that still stung. That she still ached with desire for him probably should have eased the pain, but for some reason, it only made it harder for him to overlook the betrayal. And he didn't care that it was silly of him to consider it a betrayal. That was exactly what it felt like.

It had been his decision to remain in the Eternal Garden. His decision to stay behind when she'd chosen to return to Summer. Perhaps they'd still be together if he'd been willing to set his family aside. That it had never even crossed his mind to do so meant that he had no right to blame her for finding someone else. He knew that.

But he'd loved her.

Or thought he had at any rate.

It all seemed so foolish now. He wasn't even sure he was the same person as the one who'd fallen for his cousin. It seemed like a high school crush. A Summer fling. Puppy love. Neither of them had known the ways of their people. They'd been drawn to each other mostly because they were the most modest members of their families, because they both felt intimidated by and insecure around their parents and siblings. In each other, they'd found someone who wouldn't judge them for being shy and quiet and maybe even a little naive. It hadn't been any more than that.

Well, it also helped that Patty was just about the most attractive girl he'd ever met.

But neither his mother nor his sister were all that far behind. And a far stronger bond connected him to them than did his cousin. They knew him, through and through. When they looked at him, they didn't see an idealized version of him. A physical embodiment of a young girl's romantic fantasies. They saw a real person, with virtues and vices, noble qualities and serious shortcomings. They loved him for who he was, accepted him as he was. With them, he didn't need to be ashamed of his narrow-minded grandfather or apologize for having been fortunate enough to be dealt a good hand at birth.

How could Patty ever compare to that?

And yet. And yet.

"How long do we have to stay in this mistake of a court?" he blurted out.

His mother pressed a hand to his cheek. "There's an easier way."

Kurt looked her in the eyes. At the moment, they were their true color. A natural golden hue. Who would want anything to do with blue eyes? They were so ordinary. So mortal.

"Yes?"

"The children," she said. "The ones that haven't yet been born."

"What about them?"

So she explained.

"Will that work?" he asked when she was done.

"If we're careful," his mother replied.

His heart raced. The sooner he could be away from this court, and from Patty, the better. But if they rushed things, it could all fall apart. They had to bide their time. Do things right. Maybe even wait a few years, until the second child was to be sent to the Eternal Garden. That would be far less suspicious, after all.

"What do you say?" she asked. "If you're not comfortable with-"

"Absolutely," he said, tilting her head back to kiss her.

Damn, but nothing in the world tasted as sweet as his mother's lips. Except maybe her other lips. His body warmed and his Libido stirred. He felt alive, felt like a man, when he held her in his arms and kissed her like a woman, the way mortal men never dared kiss their mothers. She was not just a beautiful woman, she was, so far as he was concerned, The Woman. The prototype. The standard against which all other models were to be judged.

He couldn't wait to get her with child. To do his duty as a man, and as her son. To hold his child in his arms and know that they'd shared the same womb.

"She had no idea how to please a man," his mother observed after their lips finally parted.

"None," Kurt said, imagining that she meant Patty rather than the Bravo girl.

"Poor boy," his mother said. "Allow me to finish," she added, going to her knees.

Glad you noticed the parallel. :)

I tried setting those changes up in past chapters. Guess it didn't come across as well as I'd thought.

AnonymousAnonymousover 11 years ago

clever parallel (or is it foreshadowing) between the meaningless race issues in earlier chapters and the actual racism exported by the garden and the glade.

also there are some major character changes that are surprising i suppose they are understandable but they do seem to have happened quickly things like eric the cool headed, kurt the jerk

still waiting for the ladies to step up there is no reason they cant be badass

just my opinion i could be wrong
