I'm a bit sorry for Tom, but indeed, he spoiled his own fun, and our chances to peek on another pair having sex. I really like how you get some control here, nudity isn't necessarily about sex, while it is undoubtedly sexy.

Just for an example of different culture: skinny dipping is the default mode for me, and most of my family, it would take some little blackmail to get me in water wearing anything. However, we aren't nudists. We would never go naked around the house, or while doing any useful work. We would never walk on each other in the bathroom, or bedroom without knocking first. However, nudity is our first choice for a swimsuit. In or near the river, pond, lake, sea, on the beach nudity is expected and normal within reason (and legal btw, except urban areas where that is equalled to hooliganism by municipal rules). Not in presence of any stranger of course. No photos! It is still private, and even for family members it is considered polite to ask for approval before stripping or joining in, every time. In sauna clothing is strictly prohibited, even to our guests. If privacy is indeed requested in the batch house (it normally shouldn't, there are completely different set of rules in effect there), it is visited in shifts.

Btw, my grandfather kept claiming there was no such thing as swimwear before WWII, what can't be completely true of course, but can be, even likely was, in his life on the countryside, and I have even seen photos of totally crowded popular resort beaches from the thirties of twenty century where there no clothing can be seen anywhere. It was just the norm back then. In my childhood in the eighties it still was completely normal for preschool children to not bother about swimsuits at all, and it was considered rather strange for flat chested girlie to wear a top of two-piece, before there is visible beasts, it wasn't required. Children were considered asexual, we even had communal change rooms in the preschool class.

The globalisation and overall reduction of privacy is having heavy toll on our local culture, in many ways, but especially regarding acceptable nudity, today's youth is far more prude and shelled than we were. Bikinis is the new nudity, and naked body something far beyond that. But on my opinion, there simply isn't a good situation where tiny bikinis would be the optimal choice, if you are realy comfortable to wear that, you don't need anything, and everyone would feel better.
