"How are you here? Why are you here? If he's so dangerous, how am I supposed to call?" Genie asked. If she was in a dangerous position she might not be able to call.

Desmond paused. She was right. "I won't let him harm you." He whispered once more. Something was different in him. Genie could sense the change.

Genie just looked at him. "What do you want Desmond? You don't really want a wife? You don't want a girlfriend. What? You just want to be the hero?"

Desmond paused. "Can I come inside, please?" he asked. She unlocked her door and they went inside.

"To be honest, I have no idea what I want. I do know I don't want your life ruined because I made a rash decision decades ago. I do know I am responsible for placing you in this predicament. This is my fault." Desmond sighed.

Genevieve waited. "Explain."

Desmond did. The story was fascinating, but in the end he made a choice.

"So, if I am your wife, I essentially belong to that demon." She stated flatly.

Desmond looking forlorn, nodded.

Genevieve stood, she walked to her door. "Leave."

Desmond apologized once more and stood to leave. Genie had one question "Why didn't you wait for me?" she asked.

Desmond froze. "I don't know. I'm sorry. I will fix this somehow."

"How? You promised him your soul mate." She reminded him.

Desmond paused, "I know, but what if I find his real soul mate and bring her to him. He won't have a choice but to let you go."

Genie just looked at him. "That's impossible." She whispered.

"It may seem so. But we have a God that sits high and looks low. He can do all things." Desmond took her hands and kissed them. "I will find a way to fix this. Then he turned to leave. "Lock the door." He ordered then he left.

He knew what he had to do. He had to think like Patrick. If Patrick wanted a wife, then he needed a wife of his own. Desmond had to find him one.

Genevieve watched as he left. Is this what master meant when he told her to find her own happiness? Surely, he did not intend for her to become the concubine of a demon. Master, Answer me please. She sent

Sylvester answered immediately. He knew right away something was wrong.

Genevieve, tell me what has upset you? Sylvester queried.

Master, I met my soul mate. She sent.

Congratulations, Genevieve, you will find true happiness now. Sylvester stated, truly happy for his young charge.

No, Master, he gave me to a demon. Genevieve replied.

Sylvester froze. What? Where are you? he demanded.

Genevieve became nervous. His voice was so cold, so still, she shook. Henson, she sent.

Candace and I will be there shorty.. Sylvester replied. Within minutes, they appeared. Candace rushed to Genevieve, hugging her tightly.

Sylvester gave them a moment, then he had questions.

"Sir, my mate is an Earth Angel. Like me. Over a century ago, he met a woman. They fell in love, but the woman belonged to a lower-leveled demon. Desmond fought for her, and he was almost defeated. He said the demon offered him a way out. He could have the female, but if he ever met another that was his soul mate, she would belong to him. Desmond, thought Sia was his soul mate so the deal would be moot. She died, and he has roamed the Earth alone, not seeking companionship anywhere until I came. The fates revealed who I was to him and the demon has returned to collect his prize."

Candace was appalled. "How could any man make such a foolish and reckless decision."

"Where is this mate of yours?" Sylvester demanded.

Before Genevieve could answer, Mauve appeared.

"Sorry to barge in dear, but I must remind my brother that there are limits to what we can do." Mauve explained.

Sylvester exploded. "She will not be given to a filthy demon. Your angel needs to get his head out of his ass and fix this post haste. Genie is mine to protect and if I have to take over your region to do so I will."

Genie shook. Candace watched, her eyes wide with trepidation also. She had never seen Sylvester so upset.

Mauve did not cower. She sighed and allowed Sylvester's tirade to run its course. "Do you think I will allow this travesty to occur? Come brother, let's speak privately." The two vanished leaving Candace and Genie alone.

Gene sat. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause such an upset." She whispered.

Candace sat beside her. "I'm glad you called him. This demon, he could really harm you."

Genie agreed with her.

The two women talked and caught up. Genie missed being with them, but since meeting Desmond, she didn't want to be anyplace else.

Meanwhile, Desmond was remembering the fight. Then he recalled who was watching. He smiled. One female had a clear stake in Patrick losing. She was furious when Patrick turned his attention to Sia. He smiled. As much as he detested demons, he needed to make a connection.

Zurie, I need your help once more. Desmond sent.

The air around him shimmered.

"What Angel? I told you to never bother me again." Zurie snapped.

Desmond smiled. "Zurie, is Patrick yours?"

She froze. "I hate him. He's an asshole and I wish I could send his sorry behind to the fiery lake." She hissed.

Desmond smiled, "So I take that as a yes."

Zurie glared at him, her eyes glowing red. "What do you want angel? You are beginning to bore me."

"I want to free my soul mate. I've found her and Patrick has laid claim." Before he could finish, Zurie laughed.

"Ah, so now you must pay for making that ridiculous deal. What do you want from me? You want me to declare him my husband. Distract him from your wife so that you and she can ride off into the abyss?" Zurie sneered.

Desmond sighed. That was exactly what he wanted. She leered, "You foolish angel, you made your choice. Deal with it." Then she vanished.

Desmond sat. He truly had nowhere to turn now. He gave an oath and unless Patrick lost interest in Genevieve, she would end up his concubine.

Desmond was despondent. He had to do something. He, in his arrogance, had created this situation and that poor angel shouldn't have to pay for his mistake.

The air shimmered. Everyone moved in slow motion. "You know, what makes you think it would be so bad for her?" Zurie asked.

Desmond froze. "Zurie, she is an innocent. If I had known that Sia was not who I thought, I never would have agreed."

"You knew, but you didn't care. You let your lust cloud your judgment. I was glad though. He was obsessed with Sia. She could demand anything of him, and he gave it to her. Do you want the truth angel? Sia told him to give her to you. You didn't win anything. She went willingly and he agreed." Zurie whispered, and then laughed.

Desmond froze, "So, if he let her go before our fight, then I owe him nothing?"

Zurie laughed, "No stupid, you promised him your soul mate." She sauntered towards him. "You know what; I'll see what he's thinking. Then I'll decide if I'm ready to proclaim him my husband." She added laughing.

Desmond stared at her in disbelief. How did I end up in this mess?

Patrick lounged in his giant private lounge. He smiled thinking of all of the fun he would have with the luscious Genevieve. She was beautiful to him. Her creamy brown skin complimented his darker tone. Her eyes were pure, innocent. He knew she was not experienced. It had been ages since he'd had a pure innocent. His mind recalled the first woman he slept with.

After they were sent to earth, demons experienced human pleasures for the first time. It was then he met Zurie. She was a young Irish lass with red hair and a hair-trigger temper. She fascinated him. He decided to seduce her, but the gorgeous red-headed siren took him instead. She taught him things and when she left him, he had a new respect for demon kind.

For decades, Zurie was the only woman he knew. Then one day he discovered human females. He would give them small wishes in return for their favor. This was a great mutual agreement until Zurie found out. She was pissed and their affair resumed.

For three decades, Zurie was all he knew. Then one night, she abandoned him and he met Sia. She wanted to be wealthy. So, he'd grant her wish in exchange for her companionship. Sia was a generous lover. Patrick used her often and in many ways.

It was when she met Desmond that she changed. However, Patrick cared for her so deeply he'd give anything to make her happy. She wanted Desmond. Patrick had to save face. Sia asked for her freedom and Patrick had to gain something.

Having challenged Desmond the day before, Patrick had to save face. He offered him the deal. He knew Sia was not his other half, but Desmond didn't. She was a siren, a seductress. The poor angel was a willing sap. He was surprised that she stayed with him for over six decades.

"Hello Lover, why are you torturing that poor angel now?" Zurie asked as she appeared in his bathroom.

Patrick smiled and stood. Zurie eyed his gorgeous frame. He was a very impressive specimen. He was sexy as hell, and could have any female he wanted. The thing was he knew it. However, this girl, Genie was unique.

"Zurie, as beautiful as ever, how can be of service?" Patrick stated as he walked around the room.

Zurie smiled. She knew exactly what he was doing. "Well, I see you still like to show off. I must admit, the package seems to have gotten better with age."

Patrick dressed. "Let me guess, Desmond visited you?"

"The girl is his other half. What are you doing?" She asked

Patrick smiled. "I'm collecting a debt. I won't keep her. When I'm done, she can go back to him. After all, he needs to know how it feels to take someone's woman."

Zurie stiffened. "Really, was she really worth all this?" Zurie demanded. Crossing her arms, she was perturbed at his insistence on longing for Sia. "That human is worm food now. Let her go." She walked away turning her back to him.

Patrick frowned. Something in her actions caught his attention. She was silent. "Zurie?" Patrick questioned.

"What, Patrick? What?" She answered angrily.

Patrick froze. Zurie was rarely cross with him. Well, when he decided to keep Sia from Desmond, but besides that he could always depend on her.

"Come here," he growled, pulling her to him and claiming her lips passionately.

Zuire shoved him away. Damn it, Desmond. Why did you come to me? She thought, her need for him almost overriding her need for self-protection.

"Zurie, it has always been good between us." Patrick purred. His body was now alive at the thought of bedding this beautiful witch.

Zurie faced him and smiled. As her passion for him began to grow, her body warmed. "You're right, Patrick. I have taught you well, but I won't be a toy for you." She ambled toward him. "We're both horny and alone. You desire a being that detest you and I, well, that's a story for another day. We both can't have what we want so we can satiate our lust in each other" Her eyes went cold, "No, I won't be a substitute for your sick fantasies. I'm going now, Patrick. When you realize what's true, find me." She vanished.

"Bitch!" He groaned. Then he thought of all of the delicious things he could do to Genie when he got her alone. Stroking his cock, Patrick closed his eyes and pictured her pleasuring him. She'd take him deep inside of her womb. He'd ruin her for any other man. Besides, Desmond could never feed her appetites. Their time would come. From what he'd witnessed earlier, his lovely angel was through with his old friend.

Instead of leaving, Zurie returned. "Shut up and fuck me." She ordered, shoving Patrick and ripping his robe open. Within seconds, she impaled her burning flesh onto his rapacious rod. Patrick was as hard as granite, and needed to be ridden. Zurie did not disappoint as she massaged his huge cock with her burning cavern. Sliding up and down, rolling her hips is a circular motion, Zurie wanted to show Patrick that he wasn't the only demon that could claim another.

"Zurie, yes, my demoness." Patrick moaned as she rode him repeatedly.

He body was hot, wet. She rode his cock as if he was the only one on earth. Patrick wanted to be in control, but with Zurie, she always abdicated control from him.

"Baby," she whispered, "That little angel can't do you like this. She will never satisfy you. Fuck me, Patrick." Zurie demanded.

Changing positions, Patrick slammed his rigid cock into her waiting body. She thought to rule him, but he'd show her that he was the one in charge. Zurie screamed with pleasure as Patrick fucked her roughly. With each thrust, her body was slammed into the floor. She no longer cared, she wanted this demon.

The angel was right. It was time to take what was hers,.

Rolling over, Zurie took charge. "Patrick, I trained you. I taught you. I groomed you for me. I've waited long enough. No simple angel can have you. You are mine and mine alone." She marked him. Patrick surrendered.

"Well, Zurie, I can let her go as long as you know, you belong to me." He replied as he then returned her mark.

Patrick shook as the claws from Zurie marked his chest. Her claim would be visible for all to see. He knew, but he needed to mark her as well. Clawing her side, three gashes ran clear through her, healing as they kissed.

Soon, they lay spent. Patrick held his woman as she was now speechless. The enormity of what had occurred just dawning.

"So, beautiful, does this mean you'll be staying?" Patrick asked, amused. He was actually giddy. Being claimed was an exhilarating feeling. Up until that moment, he's only wished to be conquered by the beautiful Zurie, but now she belonged to him. If this was what Desmond felt for his little angel, then his reaction was understandable.

"Shut up and stop thinking about them. I need you again. Prove to me that I didn't make a mistake." Zurie ordered.

Patrick smiled, and then pleasured his wife.

Meanwhile, Genevieve was leaving. She wasn't about to sleep with a demon, and her mate was callous and cold hearted. As she returned to the clinic to gather her things, the young Miss Phillips, was there.

"Nurse Genie, something's wrong." She cried. Genie rushed her inside and called Desmond.

Getting her comfortable, they chatted as they waited for Desmond arrived.

She was crowning and the baby was a few weeks early. Within an hour, she delivered a beautiful daughter. Genie gently placed the baby in her arms. It was the miracle of life. A part of her was jealous because as an angel, she'd never experience the joy of having a child.

Desmond finished what he was doing and told Genie to escort her to a private room. Being that the clinic was connected to a hospital that would not be a problem.

Desmond walked out, his heart was troubled. He had no idea how to protect Geneviève from Patrick. He had to do something. If he could not, he'd have to send her back with her master, and for some reason he didn't want to do that. True he did not know her and right now she detested the very ground he walked on, but she was his other half. She was sent here to be with him.

Desmond closed his eyes. Watching her swaddle the baby almost broke him. He wanted that. He wanted a family, a wife and children, but that would never be. He and Sia tried and she never conceived. He was told that he was sterile, and he was. Genie was like him, she would never have a child either.

Desmond sat in his office. The day had yet to begin and his appointment book was full. He knew when she returned, she was leaving him. Someone knocked and he knew who it was. "Maude, I don't need another lecture." Desmond stated.

"I know, but what about a solution." Maude asked.

Desmond looked up. For the first time in decades there was hope in his eyes.

"I talked with Sylvester. We asked for mercy. He and I will met with the Demon Lord. He has agreed to ban Patrick from Genie on one of two conditions. " She paused.

"What? Maude, tell me." Desmond demanded.

"You will lose everything you are. You will no longer be an angel. You will live out your time on this mortal plane dying as a human.." Maude explained. Desmond froze.

She continued, "Since Genevieve is innocent, she will be given a new identity. She will meet you as a human and your life can begin again. You won't have the luxury of not remembering. You will always remember what you are and how your actions led you to your end. You must never reveal the truth to her though. Humans are fragile and it would be too much." Maude paused. She loved Desmond. He was the child she never had. She hated to let him go.

"You'll still be around, right?" Desmond asked. For some reason her words held a sense of finality.

"No, I can never speak with you again. I will no longer be a part of your life." She explained.

Desmond froze, "Wait, I can remember, but I can't call. I won't see you again." He stated, not wanting to break.

"Yes, if you take this deal." Maude explained. "The other deal is that she belongs to Patrick. She becomes his soul mate and falls in love with him. They live their lives. You cannot interfere. He is a lesser demon, but he is still a demon."

"No, no, he's a demon. Do you know what they are capable of doing?" Desmond declared.

"You should have thought about that when you accepted his deal. You didn't think. Why would he offer that deal unless the woman you wanted wasn't your soul mate." Sylvester yelled as he appeared.

"For over two centuries, I have protected her. She has never been in danger not once. I send her here and you failed her. You gave her to a demon." Sylvester was livid.

Desmond faced the angry angel. "He can't have her. I'll take the deal. Make us human." Sylvester froze. He wouldn't even be able to say goodbye.

"You have no idea what you've done." Sylvester whispered before vanishing back to Candace. As much as he hated to let Genevieve go, he'd rather have her become human once again that end up with Patrick.

Maude smiled, tears swimming in her eyes, "Done."

Genevieve felt strange. She had to sit down. She collapsed. Suddenly Christine screamed. And nurses rushed in.

When she woke up, she had no idea who she was, where she was from. She had IVs in her arm and a young girl with a baby stood beside her bed.

"It'll be alright now, Ms. Genie. You're going to be alright." Christine whispered.

A doctor came in and asked about her family. She remembered her grandmother lived in New Orleans. After staying on the hospital a few days, she was preparing to leave.

A handsome man approached her. "Aw, Geneviève I hate to see you go, but at least you'll be with your family. You don't remember me, but thanks to you I've never been happier." A beautiful woman came and stood beside him.

Genevieve was confused. "Do I know you?" she asked.

Zurie smiled, "No, but thank you for helping us." The hospital van pulled up to take her to the airport. She had a flight to catch back home.

Genie looked back at the happy couple as she walked away.

Patrick held his lover close. "I almost destroyed that angel just because I wanted to annoy Desmond." He whispered.

Zurie looked sad. "She's not an angel anymore. She's mortal now."

Desmond walked out and saw them holding each other. Walking over to them he demanded, "What do you want? She's gone."

Patrick smiled, "I claimed my soul mate. You let yours go. You will go after her soon, I bet." He and Zurie vanished laughing at Desmond's heartbreak.

Desmond returned to his office as Maude reappeared. "When you are ready. I will send you to her." She explained.

"He found another. Was this necessary?" Desmond asked.

Maude smiled. "You gave your vow. It had to be honored or overruled. Patrick finding his wife didn't change that."

"Give her time to adjust, and then I'll go." Desmond answered. Maude nodded, and the rest of the day was uneventful.
