Nice, very nice.
This is a great story! You are a very talented author. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.
I can't wait to find out how they like their blue berries. This might be my favorite chapter of all... until I read your next one.
I think that this was your most intimate chapter yet. It moved along so slow - just right. Desperado is one of my all time favourites and a good choice. Whenever I hear it always see Duel McCall in my mind riding the range. A lonely figure searching for someone. I could see Mary on the stage looking down and Alvin in the chair looking up. As for the pubic hair she’d better be careful or she’ll get arrested. Just the way my mind works. lol
Great way to show 2 different ways to hit Alvin to see he needed to accept love and not run away from it, both from his mom's heart attack and through Mary telling him (and partly how his flashback to having sex with Terri influenced that)--although he also saw it needed to be a complete relationship (have plenty to talk about, have plenty in common)--and not limit it to just sex. 5
The lyrics of "Desperado" seems to be aimed so squarely at Alvin, one has to wonder if the author already had the song in mind when she began imagining Alvin's character.
My heart nearly burst with joy, ennui, regret and longing during page three.
Forget superlatives. You touched my soul.
Thank you.
