"Then why aren't you looking at me?"

Chris raised his eyes, unable to disobey, but unable to fully mask his emotional conflict either.

Justin took in Chris' expression and froze.

"What does that look mean, Chrissy?"
Chris face went from uncomfortable to stricken. Shit, shit, shit, he thought, you have to save this somehow.

"Huh? Nothing, it's nothing."

"Is it about that night? Was there something wrong with that night? That you never told me?"

Chris's mouth went dry.

"What's on your mind, boy? What's going on?"

"No, no . . . that night was perfect." Chris looked at the floor again.

"But . . .?"

"It was perfect, Sir," Chris said firmly, and smiled at Justin.

The jock wasn't buying it.

"But there's something you're not telling me. Something you're not saying. Tell me." Justin rubbed his shaved head anxiously. He was still tipsy, and obsessive.

"Chris, say what's in your head. What was wrong with that night?"

Chris exhaled slowly. He squared his shoulders and looked Justin in the eye.

"It was perfect. In every way. You were amazing, through all of it. Saving me at . . . at the fraternity, and when you . . . fucked me . . . that was perfect. I think of that night all the time. I think of that night every day, in fact. But I wasn't . . ."

Justin's eyes widened.

"You weren't what?"

"It wasn't . . ." Chris couldn't complete the sentence.

"It wasn't what?! Say it!"

"It just wasn't the first time I'd been fucked, that's all."

Justin was dumbstruck. For a moment, there was complete silence; then there was the whine of another gust of wind.

The fist, when it came, landed hard.

Shock was all Chris could feel at first; it was as if he was suspended in time. And then he found himself on the floor, holding his face, an extraordinary pain in his eye and nose. He couldn't see, but he felt something hot and sticky. Was that blood? How . . . what had happened? Through the pounding in his ears, he heard the sound of a door slamming. He sat there for a few minutes in a stupor. He came to his senses when he felt something wet dripping through his hands onto his leg.

Bathroom.

He stumbled, half-blind, into the short hallway and made his way to the small bath. Afraid to look at first, he ran the tap and washed his face thoroughly in the cold water. By the time the hot water finally arrived on the top floor, he had decided that his nose was definitely bleeding. But he needed to see what else. Cupping his nose tightly in his hand, he looked up at the mirror. His nose and the area around his left eye were both red. It was already swelling; he could only squint with that eye. He closed it and reopened it as best he could. Then the other. He could still see out of both. Ok. Ok. Holding a towel to his face, he headed back to his room.

Phone. 911. Operator. What was the nature of his emergency. Shame. Pain.

Heavy snow. Poor visibility. No ambulance. Nearest emergency room. Thanks.

He dressed himself unsteadily, trying unsuccessfully not to get blood everywhere. He bundled up for the walk, towel still pressed to his face. He went through the door downstairs, locking it automatically, then thinking: I will have to change the lock. That broke him; he started to cry.

The snow was falling gently now; the street was domed in the exquisite lacework of white tree branches, lit by the occasional yellow globe of a street light. Chris trudged slowly into the night.

After reading Chris' thoughts..

Some are seriously believing Mark is the one lol he can be in love with Chrisbfor the rest of his life but he'd be a complete idiot to think Chris would feel the same lol Chris turns to Mark to give him what Justin has only really done the first time they fucked: feeding his emotional need. If Justin would stop being an ass to Chris who he knows he's lucky to have care about him so much and have to deal with his drinking and mood swings, he'd have it all with Chrissy. He's not happy with the frat and will eventually be tired of living a lie so I'm crossing my fingers that puttig his hands on Chris again will reveal what he has lost because he is a complete idiot and prove himself to Chris by getting out of the frat and admitting he is a gay man. Not everyone gets fooled by his lies. Good job on the story so far, just tired of Chris getting hurt by the one he loves so damn much!

Re: Justin

Re: Justin, he is definitely worth dumping without any regrets, except for the time and energy wasted on him already, that Chris will never get back.

I was done with Justin when he didn't immediately quit the Fraternity over all that was done to Chris. Petulant Bully boy user, cowardly, selfish, shallow, dishonest. Not exactly a description of a great catch.

Mark's intentions

I think Mark is very much in love with Chris, but knows he is too young and not ready. IMO Mark is biding his time, keeping in touch with Chris, but at (for Mark) a "safe distance, waiting for time to pass and for Chris to get older and more mature. It is then that I think Mark intends to make a serious move of Chris for a long term committed relationship with his perfect Sub that he has patiently waited for and cared for.

While I am Team Christin..

Tf is wrong with Justin? That jackass should know that he forced Chris into another man's arms cuz he knows Chris wants to be with someone not afraid to show he cares about Chris! Back when Chris did offer up the v-card to Mark, I was disappointed because I wanted it to be with Justin but he didn't deserve it and he has yet to earn the right to have someone like Chris care about him. He just couldn't help but go on and on about being Chris' first and in response to finding out he actually wasn't, he hurt Chris. I am no fan of Justin's in this chapter..Chris obviously wants a real relationship that goes beyond Dom/sub and until he demands it from Justin--IF he forgives him for what happened--he should find someone else and NOT Mark because he doesn't care about Mark like that and while he may be a temporary replacement of Justin to fill Chris' need for affection, Mark will fail to get Justin out Chris' mind! I do however hope that V-Day and the rest of spring semester goes a lot better for Chris because he does deserve to be loved and by someone not in denial of loving him!
