Before you write any more of this at least make sure you get an editor and research your subject!First you say it's a new warship,then a couple of sentences later it was a treasure escort when in it's prime.Going to the American colonies who recently declared their independence(1776)then we are told our Admiral(only in his mid twenties-ridiculous)had fought against the Spanish Armada,A truly remarkable feat considering the Armada was defeated in 1588.Numerous other errors that I haven't mentioned.Dramatic licence is permitted but for God's sake get your basic facts correct.

I admit, I know very little of the era but what I learned offhand playing Pirates! Gold hahaha. I'll change to a different subject, perhaps, or just pretend its an alternate universe entirely. maybe I'll just remove any historical references, so there's no time period. Will research more in the future :P
