For some odd reason this seems a good story.

It's interesting to see the thought process of the creature, and you made the right call not explaining it TOO much. I also like the fact that it is trying to be a benign thing, as far too many of the transformation stories involving tentacles are depressing.

I do still wonder about how reproduction works, as I assumed there would be something involving those transformed but so far all of this has been excellent.
