You’ve written another wonderful story. Your style has created characters that draws the reader in so easily. I feel Kathy’s emotions of the painful past and the love she has for Gracie. The time in which this chapter spans shows it is a true testament of her love (not mention the tattoo). Well done, looking forward to reading more.

Stunning Ending!

It is definitely a learning experience, understanding what being gay was like in the 1960s in California. One can just imagine what type of vicious abuse was heaped on same-sex couples in most other USA States in that time period!

It is nice knowing the background of Grace & Kathy's relationship, and certainly surprising to learn they were together since HS (44-yrs), excepting their tragic six month break up.

Finally, I am on pins and needles wanting to know what Kathy did that almost killed Grace, sending her running into John's arms.

People are going to complain about your writing style I bet. Well they can complain but I think its nice to get an idea about how it was back then. And we know what happened to her leg now, so good story and thnk you five stars for this.

Reminds me in some ways of my partner and I. I was Grace. I had to slow her down. But God how we loved each other!

And now after years you coming back for more ...... Feelings bubbling that this storyline is connected with your ur RL and a need to ccome clean or getting it out of the system ...... I agree the author paints a searing picture of 1960s-era homophobia. But it’s the relationship between the two protagonists that, for me, makes this a dissatisfying story. They profess to love each other eternally and unconditionally. And yet, Kathy did something 14 years ago which Grace is supposed to have forgiven her for but does not allow Kathy to apologize for as a result of which Kathy is doomed to walk forever on eggshells and to feel forever “tested.”

And what’s with “George”? Is strap-on penetration and mock fellatio the sum total of their lovemaking? We are shown one moment where Grace kneels before Kathy and lays a sweet little kiss on her clitoris and that’s the closest they come to cunnilingus!

To me, very strange and unsatisfying.

The roadtrip, the cautiousness of manoeuvring in a gay uneasy (to say the least) environment, the reminiscing of Kathy's and Grace's history, the small pointers of what lies ahead ... Beautifully written. Thank you so much.

I'm always looking for a good read, and stumbled upon this story. In the writers' bio, she mentions some heavy hitters in the lesbian lit world. The characters that other writers write about are multidimensional, and layers of depth. I find that these two characters are one dimensional. Lacking in depth creates a circumstance of the reader not really caring what happens to them. The potential is there, and the table is set for a great story, I will be reading the last two chapters
