As I read, listening to the author's perspective of what might bring two characters to the brink cementing in this unnatural fetish, I enjoy arguing against it in my own mind. OF COURSE, the obvious answer for Tim is to get the fuck out and away from her, but he will stay to have his sexuality controlled. Hmm...

What is missing is the need for her to compartmentalize her emotions, to keep herself from getting hurt. Understanding that Tim WILL be hurt, well that is just part of the process. This perspective is needed from a "better him than me" standpoint. If she hurts him, it is OK, to prevent herself from getting hurt. She gets guilt free slut sex, and he has to put up with it. What is missing is how she can justify hurting him in the process. The relationship is only open for a few months, and she is ready to permanently walk away from Tim - IF he can't handle it?? How does she rectify that opening the marriage up has , in fact, made it weaker? When it is ONLY better for HER, how in the hell can it be better for THEM??? I'm not sure if you intended your story to champion this lifestyle, but you HAD to understand that people would be critical of the logic and thought processes of your characters? Are these characters fashioned after people who have figured it out? If "Tim" could be convinced, could you convince me, the reader? (Hell no, but I'd like to see your best effort to try!!!) The most telling thing is Tim's realization that sex with her AFTER she has been out with another man is better than his memory of sex with her after they have been out together alone. Hmm, why is that? She had already been more career focused than marriage focused, and all but cut him off before "he" had the idea to open the marriage. So you begin the story with two people who probably shouldn't be together anymore, because they already lack (or never had), a truly equally displayed passionate love for each other. So instead of trying to figure out how to have a better connection with your spouse, instead of putting all of your energy into the relationship you are supposed to be committed to, you begin to cheapen yourself, reject your here-to-fore ingrained moral principles, stretch the limits of self-respect (exchanging the pride one derives from being a basically good person, with the adolescent thrill derived from trashy, meaningless, and empty sexual attraction). After pushing away what would have been normal feelings of regret, you convince yourself that the only way to save the same marriage you have eviscerated at its core, is to then take it to the extreme of Dom/sub fetish cuckolding. But I have a sense that your story isn't a cautionary tale, as much as an intended celebration of broken people manipulating others for selfish gain and attention. All I ask of you, author, is to really, really, really take a hard look at what it is you want to say, and if you really believe it, and if you will have crafted your characters, plot, and dialogue, to convey that message? It will make the difference between readers hating Tim and Lisa, thus rooting for their demise...or feeling sympathetic to Tim and Lisa, thus cheering them on to figure it out, and return to a lasting love that is strong enough for BOTH of them to be willing to fight for it. Even the revelation that they would be better apart than together, creates a climax that might be worth wading through the dregs of inhumanity and over the top depravity to get to. But that she would be so willing to go for divorce, so soon in chapter one, doesn't give me a lot of hope for the evolution of dynamic emotional fiber to be lurking in chapter 2, but of course we never know. Interesting that in your bio, you mention your belief on relationships, in that they don't have to have equality between partners, as long as both understand and accept their role. You speak nothing of happiness, contentment, or love, as ingredients for a lasting relationship. Someone may be stuck in a dead-end job. Despite the fact that they HATE their job (and thus their life), they show up everyday, and do the assigned work. This employee understands and accepts their role, and demonstrates that to the boss, but they are not happy and would secretly give anything to have a different or better job. I can't imagine what anyone would think was wrong with the story, unless you just don't like cuckold stories. The beginning and set up of the story may seem rambling with the explaining of the law firm dynamics, but this eventually was woven into the story by Lisa's attitude. Most writers of like genres usually give a disclaimer, warning the potential reader of what the content will contain, to not proceed if any of the following will offend or upset, YET these people read your stories over and over and claim they are outraged or disgusted. The opposite is likely quite true. They are aroused to a level that they can't accept or even admit, yet they find themselves compelled to read more and more of yours and others' writings.
