"Oh you've got to be fucking kidding me!" She almost yelled.

It was the minister.

"This is ridiculous are you stalking me or something?" She asked.

"We do keep running into each other." He said coldly.

His face portrayed no emotion. He knelt down and started helping her gather up her books and papers.

"What are you even doing here?" Ivy asked, annoyance hinting in her voice, she didn't know why she disliked him so much, she barely knew him despite the intimate talk they had shared on Friday.

"I had to induct a teacher today at assembly, your school asked our church to send over a minister and so they sent me. Which you would know if you weren't late Miss- "He stopped, realising he still didn't know her name.

She ignored the fact that he clearly wanted a name and said "Yeah, well, this is only making me later so I had better go." She grabbed the books he was holding and pushed past him.

Derek was being cold toward the girl, he knew that, but that didn't explain her sudden coldness toward him. Well he did leave the other day when she went to get his coat. That must be it. He tried to push it aside. It didn't matter why a total stranger was being cold to him, he shouldn't care. She was just some girl he told himself.

But she wasn't just some girl. She was amazing. Her mind and her body both perfect and beautiful. He thought back to their walk on Friday night and wished that he could run after her now and ask her to just walk with him again. Just talk to him. She was a school girl and he was a minister. He almost laughed at the irony and bad luck. No matter how much he liked this girl, and no matter how many times in ran into, nothing could or ever would happen.

Ivy got to class right before it ended and was just in time to get a mega-detention.

"Ivy, how nice of you to finally join us." Her maths teacher Mr. Johnson said.

"Sorry I am late Sir." She replied weakly.

"Ivy. You are not just late; you have missed class almost entirely. I will see you at 4.00 this afternoon. Sharp. You will need to catch up the work you have missed." He said.

Ivy sighed and nodded. Detention.

The rest of her classes went smoothly and she wasn't late to a single one. At lunch she caught up with Kurt and Lindsay.

She sat down next to Kurt in her normal place. Zach was nowhere to be seen.

"Where's Zach?" Ivy asked.

Lindsay looked up from inspecting her nails and said "Zach? I dumped him. He was getting needy."

She looked back down at her nails and Ivy looked across at Kurt. She caught his eye and winked at him. He smiled weakly and shook his head.

"So what else is new you too?" Ivy asked.

"Nothing" Lindsay replied.

"No one new you have your eye on Linds?" Ivy asked.

Lindsay shrugged dismissively "No, not really."

Kurt gave Ivy a "See? I told you so" look.

"Say, Ivy, how was your date with Heath?" Lindsay asked, suddenly excited.

"Bet he didn't meet her standards" Kurt said.

"Well actually, he surprised me. He was very sweet and charming, I really quite like him." Ivy replied.

Kurt mimicked surprise.

"That's great! I told you all you needed to do was get out there and date a bit!" Lindsay squealed.

"Oh and Ivy, you picked the wrong day to be late! This morning at assembly, that new French teacher had to get inducted and the Minster they got to induct him? Oh. My. God. He was like the hottest guy I have ever seen! Like wow. I can't believe you missed it!" Lindsay said.

Ivy didn't say anything, she just shrugged.

"I don't think you understand how hot he is. I am not exaggerating when I say he is the hottest guy I have ever seen." Lindsay repeated.

Ivy shrugged again and Lindsay looked taken back.

"Ivy are you ok? I mean you are acting a little weird." Lindsay said.

"I am fine Lind's." Ivy said.

"Well then why don't you care about this hot minister. I mean normally you would at least pretend to care." Lindsay said.

"I just don't care about some minister." Ivy said.

"Ivy, Lindsay is right, you are being weird, what's up?" Kurt asked, looking at her.

"I said it's nothing ok? I just don't care about the stupid gorgeous minister, I'm sick of him." Ivy almost yelled.

Lindsay looked slightly shocked "You sound like you know him?" she asked

Ivy sighed "I go to that Church, I met him on Friday and I've run into him a few times since. That's all."

"That's all? Doesn't sound like it." Lindsay pressed. "Why don't you like him?"

"It's not that I don't like him it's just... I don't know, he is kind of cold and rude." Ivy said. She didn't mention the fact that he had ditched her or that she was super attracted to him. And not just his gorgeous looks, but his personality too.

Lindsay shrugged now, obviously deciding to drop the issue.

The bell rang, signalling the end of lunch and the rest of the day flew by. Before Ivy knew it, it was 4 o'clock and she was sitting in detention, catching up on math's work that she had missed by being 50 minutes late for class. She worked hard and fast and managed to finish within half an hour.

She had cheer practice at 5 o'clock so she went to the locker rooms and found Lindsay. They chatted for a while, as they slowly got dressed into their cheer uniforms.

At 5 o'clock they went to the gym and practiced until 6. Ivy was glad for the distraction of friends and sport. At 6.515 Lindsay and Ivy walked out of the gym giggling and laughing. They both stopped when they saw Kurt standing there. He looked nervous.

"Hey Kurt, what's up?" Lindsay asked.

"Hey, um, can I talk to you?" he asked, he was fiddling with hands nervously.

He's so going to make a move Ivy thought. She bit her lip in excitement.

"Uh, sure. I'll see you later Ivy" Lindsay waved.

"Ok, bye guys." Ivy said and began the short walk home.

She had a girlish excitement dwelling in the pit of her stomach about her two friends. She really hoped they got together and things went well. Sure it meant she'd be the ultimate third wheel, but it would make them both really happy and that made her happy.

She turned onto her street and realised there was someone standing in front of her building. She got closer and suddenly realised it was the priest. She stopped and stared, what was he doing here? He looked like he was waiting. He was looking around and glancing at his watch. Who was he waiting for? Her? She briefly considered running away but she knew what she had to do. She started walking again. He saw her. He watched her walk towards him, his face blank but his eyes never leaving her.

She felt exposed in her cheerleading outfit with his eyes boring into her. She stopped a few metres away from him.

"What are you doing here?" She asked, almost angrily.

"Waiting for you." He replied blatantly.

She groaned inwardly. "How did you know when I was going to be home?" She asked suspiciously.

"I didn't." He said flatly.

"How long have you been waiting?" She asked slowly.

He glanced at his watch "Two and a half hours."

She couldn't help it. She laughed.

"So why are you here then? To preach words of God to me? Ask me why I didn't come to Church on Sunday or why I was late to school?" She mocked him.

His face remained blank. "I just wanted to apologise." He said.

"For what? Ditching me the other day?" She asked dryly. "What was that about anyway? I thought you wanted your coat back." She said sourly.

Derek had been waiting a long time for her to come home. It had crossed his mind that it was very creepy and wrong, but he reassured himself by saying that he just wanted to become friends with this girl. Ever since joining the church he had been lonely and not kept in touch with many of his friends.

She was not impressed by the gesture, or if she was she didn't show it. He figured it came across as fairly creepy. He supposed he might've secretly, somewhere deep down, hoped she would find it romantic.

"I'll be honest with you. I figured it was our only connection and well, I didn't want to severe it." He said.

"I'm just some girl. Why do you care?" She asked.

He wanted to say she wasn't just some girl. She was the most beautiful girl he had ever met. And he had met a lot of girls. She was smart, funny, interesting and mature.

He wanted to tell her how perfect she was but instead he said "I don't have many friends. Sometimes I need to try and take opportunities when they come."

He realised it sounded stupid and he immediately regretted the words.

She laughed bitterly and then pushed past him and into the building. He cursed and punched the wall. Making his knuckles bleed and swell. He didn't know why it made him so angry, after all he didn't know her that well, a stranger brushing him off shouldn't hurt as much as that did. He leaned against the wall and sunk to his knees. He felt like crying. Crying like a child. He didn't though. He just sat there, leaning against the wall. A few minutes later it started to rain and he just sat there. In the rain. Just sitting.

Ivy was annoyed at the priest for coming and waiting for her like that. She was getting along well with Heath, and she did not want to be tempted by other men and even though she knew nothing could ever happen even if they both felt the same way, she couldn't help but be attracted to him. When she looked at Heath she saw a boy, but when she looked at the minister she saw a man. A big, strong man, who could protect her and make her feel safe.

She was also annoyed when he had made out like she was just an opportunity. She didn't know why she kept being annoyed by a stranger. She kept telling herself she barely knew him despite the intimate talk they had had. She was frustrated that he kept popping back into her head as she sat at her desk and tried to do her homework. After about an hour of trying she gave up. She sat on the couch and turned up the television. Soon after she got hungry and decided to make dinner. She pulled out some pasta and boiled some water in a pot. Cooking helped her clear her mind.

At about 9 o'clock there was a knock at her door. She frowned and quickly put the freshly cooked meal on the counter. She went to the door. She swung it open and stared. It was the minister. She couldn't help it, she gaped. He was a fucking stalker. He smiled a bit when he saw her and looked slightly relieved.

"How the hell do you know where I live?!" She demanded.

"I don't." He replied almost dryly.

"So what you knock on every door to try and find me then?" She asked sarcastically

He shrugged "Well yes actually. 314 to be exact" he said, glancing at the number on the door.

"What is wrong with you?" She asked and then she slammed the door in his face.

She sighed angrily and leaned against the door.

Derek had knocked on every single door to try and find her. He wasn't sure why, he just knew he had to find her and make things right. He wanted to know this girl, even if it killed him. He knew nothing would ever happen between them but he wanted to at least be friends.

He put his hand on the door when she slammed it. He shouldn't be surprised she didn't want to see him, but it still stung a little.

"Look, please just... open the door" he called.

"Go away you creep." She said.

"I know we don't really know each other and that showing up like this after ditching you the other night, it's weird but well, from what I've seen so far, you are a great girl, like really great and I just... I want to know you. Please." He said.

She didn't say anything. After a moment the door swung open and she was standing there, still looking rather unimpressed but sexy as ever.

"Please, let me get to know you. I can make up all of this. Let me take you out to dinner." He said.

"You're a minister, you aren't allowed to date, plus I'm seeing someone else now and you aren't really my type." She said.

"I didn't mean like that; I mean as a friend." He replied. He tried to ignore what she had said, though he knew they could only ever be friends and he had actually meant a date as friends, her words still cut him like a knife. She was seeing someone else? He felt a pang of jealousy but his face stayed stony. He had sort of hoped that she would feel at least somewhat the same way as he did.

Ever since becoming a minister he had had no trouble brushing off the flirty girls and pretty ladies that came into the church. She was the first one he had not been able to brush off; for two reasons. One; she was completely uninterested in him, unlike every other woman that had walked into that church, she barely paid him any notice and looked to him only as a minister before he had started to run into her everywhere. And the second reason was that she was utterly gorgeous. More beautiful than any other woman he had ever laid eyes on. And that was not an overstatement.

"Just as friends?" She asked.

"Yes." He said.

"I've already made myself dinner." She said coldly.

"Oh." His face dropped. "Another time then." He turned and began to walk away.

He heard her sigh then say "Wait."

He stopped and turned slowly, he couldn't help but take her in as he turned. She definitely noticed him checking her out yet again.

"Look, I've made enough for two if you want to stay." She said.

"If it's not too much trouble for you?" He replied.

"It's fine, come in." She said, moving out of the way of the door so he could come in.

Ivy didn't know why she was inviting a minister in to have dinner with her. She decided it was out of pity. Ministers were lonely people and all he wanted was some friends. She could be that. She couldn't help but keep thinking about how handsome he was. She kept comparing him with Heath. Heath was a good-looking boy, but that's all he was. A boy. This minister though. He was a man. And Ivy admired that very much, his strength and manliness.

It was clear, however, that he did not notice this. Despite his expressionless face and coldness, she could tell he had no idea she was admiring him. She would see him checking her out but he never saw her checking him out. She smiled a little to herself at that.

She set the two plates down on the dinner table and poured some wine.

"You're underage." He said.

Ivy shrugged and said "You can leave if you don't like it."

He seemed slightly amused at that and said nothing more. They sat down and started eating, no words shared between them.

After a few moments the minister said "This is good."

Ivy replied awkwardly "Thanks."

She tried not to look at him. She should be with Heath, he was a good guy and actually available. This guy was way too old for her (though that didn't affect his looks at all she thought) and he was a minister, who were not allowed to have relationships.

"If you wouldn't mind- "he started then paused. "May I have a name?"

Ivy looked up and smiled at him. She considered him for a moment.

"Ivy." She replied.

Ivy. That was her name. He liked it. It was easy to say, short and sweet. It suited her. With her tanned skin and dark, sleek hair, her button nose and emerald green eyes. Her 5'5" hour glass figure and long legs. Her perfect ass and large breasts. Ivy.

He smiled at her and said "I'm Derek. Minister Derek."

He held out his hand and she shook it politely.

After a few awkward attempts at starting a conversation and a few more glasses of wine each, they finally fell into conversation. Once the conversation was started, it flowed easily and they laughed and talked well into the night. As midnight neared conversation slowed and Derek decided it was time for him to leave, after all he couldn't be up too late with work and she probably had school.

"Well, I should probably get going, I need some sleep." He said. It wasn't entirely true. He knew if he went home he wouldn't sleep, he had been experiencing severe insomnia. If he did finally get to sleep, the nightmares would come and he would wake up, panting and sweating, sometimes shaking or screaming. It was from his time in the SES, that was why he had stopped. Some of the things he had done... some of the things he had been through. That was why he turned to God.

"Oh, ok, I should probably get some sleep too." Ivy replied, but he may have detected a hint of disappointment.

He got up and so did she. She followed him to the door. He stepped out and stood there awkwardly. She smiled and reached for something just inside the door. She handed him his coat. He smiled and laughed a bit at that.

"Well, I guess this is goodnight then Ivy" he said.

She liked the way he said it.

"I guess so" she replied.

She waited for him to turn and leave but he didn't and he found she couldn't close the door either. She was suddenly aware of how close they were standing, his body and face just a single away-

Suddenly the distance between them had been closed and he was holding her face in his hands. Before she knew what she was doing she was leaning up and he was leaning down; their lips touched. From even just the lightest of touches she felt sparks explode between them and shivers run down her spine. She suddenly realised how crappy and flat her kiss with Heath had been the other night.

This kiss was amazing. She felt tingles through and lips and down her spine. The gentle kiss deepened and his tongue snaked inside her mouth. He held her head with both his hands like it was a precious china plate that could break if he held it to tightly. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled herself close to him. Their bodies pressed together. They fitted against each other perfectly like two pieces in a puzzle.

Suddenly he pulled back. He stumbled back, his eyes wide and breath ragged.

"I-I-I shouldn't've done that." He stammered, bewildered.

"I- I'm so sorry" he said, then he turned and walked as fast as he could toward the stairs.

Ivy stared after him then closed the door and leaned against it for a moment. Leaning her head back against it so she was looking at the ceiling. She sunk slowly to the floor and sat there a long time before she finally got up and went to bed.

3.5* Better, but you still write without knowledge. Cheerleadwrs don't wear uniforms to practice. Seriously, your main character is an underage girl who has her own apartment in the city? Is your hunky older guy a Catholic priest or a Protestant minister? Huge difference!

Great

Write more!!!

Minister or priest

Please make up your mind. There is a difference in beliefs and requirements of catholisism versus other denominations on appropriate behavior.

You either need an editor or you need to read through it a couple times before posting.

Of course continue

9 times out of 10, slower pace is better.

Heath is a jerk, could be drama there.

Happy endings rock.

Get an editor, there were a few sentence spelling and errors.

More please. Off to a nice start.
