All Comments on 'The Novelist Pt. 09'

I just want to say that this series has definitely become my favorite on all of lit. Unlike so many stories, or even series, you flesh out your characters to the point where the reader can almost feel exactly what's happening to them. While i would love to read further adventures of Tom, Alexis, and all the rest, i think leaving it on the note you have may in fact be the correct choice. The readers are left with a sense of imagination of the retreat and the happiness and contentment the characters have found.

I think that if you still have a need to put fingers to keys, that starting up a new series might worth the effort. Personally a brother/sister story about entering into the lifestyle could be an enjoyable read with the way you flesh out your stories...but then again, that's just me.

i would love to see this go further hopefully kimmie stays his private toy since the mention of him maybe getting her pregnant during her collaring. then there is tabitha and the resort ideas if he took all the ladies and used the jobs they do in the outside to the resorts benefit it might be a good thing. he did mention doctor, lawyer,cook,etc..

I would like to read of more intimacy between Tom and Alexis, surely they are not going to stop at one child ;-) a bit more of their private time together would be nice.

Compliments for making it understood that this lifestyle has nothing to do with violently forcing anything onto the submissive rather than painstakingly determining the need of the individual and then lovingly fullfilling it. I would love to read more like this, with Tom being the center. But widening the scope into a larger retreat might slide it into a commercial enterprise with the personalities taking a backseat. Maybe there is enough variation if some girls leave with other dominants and new figures take center stage - thus keeping it in a family environment and still bring new actors and new thrills ? I was actually heartbroken at the time between the last two chapters and the one before it, worried you wouldn't continue. Please keep up the good work and try to find a publisher. I think this chapter lacked the zing of the previous chapters. It seemed a little bit of a stretch and exhibited the author's labored attempts at closing loose ends even as he created a few feeble threads that he could possibly pursue on public demand. I think marie being pregnant is one such, too easy, predictable and unexciting a prospect. John killing himself and the submission of maryanne and possiblity of tabitha lacked the excitement generated in the internal turmoil undergone by marie and jane.

It had been a fabulous first eight chapters that i read out in a stretch closed out by a lacklustre 9th effort and so my advise to this wonderful author nicequip is to stop the story here and start working on a fresh series. He is gifted in his insights into women and should pursue a new story with the protagonist being a woman....

As the title says this story was and is great. I would enjoy seeing you continue on with it and going with the resort theme. It would be interesting to see what kind of antagonist you could come up with for it. Topping the father as the antagonist might be a tough one.

I found your story when you only had the first few chapters finished, and found myself anticipating the next chapter and waiting to see it. I would love to see it continue.

A truly great story. There are so many possibilities for future stories. Maybe from the girls POV. His mother or his aunt and how they react to the incest. Alexis as his wife and now Mistress to the girls. Possibilities are endless.

I love this series. The I/T aspect drew me in, but the BDSM was in a vein that I liked, rather than the hater variety. It reminded me a little of the sprinkling of BDSM that Laurell K. Hamilton has added in the latter of her Anita Blake series of novels, with tops and subs being in partnership and communicating what each other wants and needs.

As for continuing, I would love to read more. I HATE when stories end. Maybe you could spin off into; The Novelist: The Resort Pt. ?, and also maybe an more in depth back/origin story on each of the other girls?

How did he meet Francesca and Jen? I would love to read all about how he met and became involved with two seemingly opposite personalities. How does it work meeting and training a single mother? Who did he meet first, Fran or Abby? Since they were among the few who knew about each other at first, how did he and they handle knowing about each other, especially when they met at work the first time after finding out?

I could go on forever, but suffice it to say, anything you create in the same loving I/T and BDSM fusion should be a great read, continuation or spin-off or not.

It's been a fascinating story and very instructive about the lifestyle. I would put you in the same category as "AlwaysWantedTo" in terms of being able to illuminate each character's mind and and describe the internal conflicts and their resolutions as they move towards their destinies. He hasn't done anything as ambitious as this, that I'm aware of, but his stories are almost always gems.

Tom is thinking of expanding his "club" to make it accessible to other committed Doms and Subs, and to possibly be a recruiting and training center. It's a great concept but he shouldn't limit it to his location in LA, but he could expand it to many locations, both in the U.S. and abroad, along the lines of a franchise or ClubMed. For example, Erik and Angie could start to develop something on the East coast. As more Doms and Subs become involved, and the word spreads through the D/S community, enterprising Doms from other states and countries may want to develop similar 'retreats' in their locations.

One of the very, very best series of stories I have read on here. You really made the characters come alive, making this a truly engaging story; pulling the reader in. I hope you'll continue, as it certainly feels there must be more in store for Tom and Alexis!

Perhaps a prequel, how Alexis came into Tom's life? I really hope you continue this story line somehow or another.

I think you should carry on, the way you right the BDSM in relation to the characters is spot on, many other writers on here go over the top or sometimes even don't go far enough but you've really struck up a balance and personally 'd enjoy reading more, maybe more girl on girl partly going into Janes submission, and the heirarchy with Alexis and the girls.

This is without a doubt the best story I have ever read. Please continue! Wherever you take the story, I am sure it will be interesting.

Absolutely the best story I have read so far! The intricate, realistic, and detailed look into the Lifestyle is truly amazing. The character development is top notch. The twists and turns and their final resolve kept me an avid reader, until I started getting close to the end. I did not want to finish, I wanted to “live” in the story a little while longer. This is quite possibly the single best story i have read on this site. The characters were believable and you did a great job building up a basic picture of their backgrounds for us readers. The shooting was an unexpected twist in the story and it was extremely well executed, and the whole cheating/divorce storyline was great and had me hooked until the end.

My only gripe with the story is the multiple instances of using the wrong your/you're/there/their. It's not a major problem but it annoys me a little, otherwise it's fantastically written.

Personally I would love to see more of this story, maybe focusing on Tabitha's fall into submission, or a prequel based on Lexi and Fran's experiences when they first fell into the lifestyle with Tom.

This is written so well my imagination runs wild. I can picture what each character looks like, their traits, and relate it to someone in Hollywood. This could be a movie (a very saucy one at that!). First, your writing style and this series is simply amazing! I love your character development, your graphic expanse, and most importantly - the realism that captured my soul and wouldn't let go. I love the risks you took and the eloquence you took in iorning these out for your reader. On a very personal level - I would love more in this story line. I think Eric has a great deal of potential for development.

Just...enough. Tom is one of the most psychopathic, violently and pathologically deceptive, manipulative piece of gnat excrement I have yet had the pleasure of reading about. An excellently constructed antihero. A pity you attempt so awkwardly to make him the hero. Equally unfortunate is the fact that his father's much deserved bullet didn't strike him in his never to be sufficiently lauded penis. One wonders if all those women, married and otherwise, would have been (or continued to be) as adoring, were his equipment a tad shorter. Setting such idle chatter aside; this series truly was an incalculable waste of my precious time. Not a likeable character to be found, nary a sex scene with sufficient descriptive punch...and plotlines that could have been pulled from Count of Monte Cristo if you were trying to rewrite it by taking out everything that made it pleasurable and cathartic. And added more raunch. Absent descriptive vigor. Yes. Quite enough, I would say. Just a snobbish assholes opinion. Methanks ye kindly sor. Methanks ye kindly. (Spelling intentional)

I have to say.. I have read a lot of sex-stories over the years, but none before has had this effect on me. First of all, the very beginning of this series promted me to start writing again; thank you for that. But further more, you have a way of writing about BDSM that comes closer to truth than anyone I've ever read. The sincerity and love in all the characters and their relationships, together with the indepth descriptions of their feelings and motivations, it makes for a good read more than just "jerk off material". I would read this as a proper novel!

Secondly, I do hope you continue the story. I would love to follow the development of all the girls, and you HAVE TO give us the wedding!! You can't just throw that out there and not let us follow the happy couple down the aisle. That would just be cruel and unusual punishment!

But I must say. The "final" two chapters (8 & 9) really make up for it. I liked a lot of things. In the time between the 7th chapter of the novelist and the present, my mind has became much more "corrupted" and I realised I take incest lightly now. It's not a big deal to me anymore. The story (10/10): I made some mental reviews before (I read over 100 stories here, and i count only the 10+ page ones) and you are one of the few to deserve my best story grade. Bear in mind that I thought a long time between a 9 and a 10. This is the first story that made me tear up a bit at the end, and trust me, getting me to tear up is equivallent of Tom getting a spanking from Kimmie. Pretty much impossible. I enjoyed the story immensely. I liked the emotive part of it, Tom's caring for his subs, and their love for Tom. Erik finding his Angie and Marie finally finding her spot under the sun while Jane got her dominant. I liked it all, including the big climax with John. It was very emotional, the entire trip. I'm emotionally bonded with this and I remember every word of it vividly. I'm still "a work of progess" emotionally, I'm not as old as you think and I havent found myself yet. What I do know is that you made me find a part of myself through that book. You have my eternal thanks because of it. I'm sorry I'm drifting from the review but I cant make it stoical because I lived through the story to vividly not to care. It got my emotions out of me and this review will be very diffrent. Still, this is probably the first and the last time I will say this for a story comment:

The grammar (9/10): Same as "The Tears of the Stars", few mistakes here and there but overall, great grammar. I had to focus to find mistakes and even then i failed sometimes. But the details are so minor my brain doesn't even register them anymore. Wonderful.

The sex (9/10): This is diffrent than "The Tears of the Stars". Usually no OOOHoohOhOoooH's. I appreciate it. I like a detailed description instead. Thats why you get a nine out of ten. Why nine? They "could" be better. Maybe a bit more fetishes? Im not a fetish freak but BDSM is a niche market with variety of people. I happen to like everything thats in the SSC boundaries.

So yeah, it misses that... Flavour... I'm sorry I cant be more precise... It didnt get me instantly hard but I was turned on nontheless. And of course, they still are a bit short.

Overall, its a 9.3. You deserved it. I can't express myself enough, how much I enjoyed this. It's a jewel in a sea of rocks. I'm just sorry I didn't recognize it sooner. I don't really know what to say. Of course this isnt a objective review, I'm too emotional for that.

But...

I think this 9th chapter is a good place to wrap up. You made a perfect world, no need to destabilize it. Leave something to the imagination. But, you could make an alternative timeline, when Tom was the learner, when he just got into the BDSM lifestyle. These are just suggestions of course, you blew me away and I'll read anything from you anyways.

I waited to put any comment in until I had read all the parts of the novelist. I tip my hat to you Nicequip. Your story resonated with me on many levels. I will say as a man who once had a partnership as a co-Dom with my girlfriend and at one point three submissive women living in my house (not nearly as extravagant as Tom's household though). And a few other play partners off and on who did not live with us I just recognized some of the difficulties Tom has in managing so many different women, he manages it so well in the story yet you showed the emotional turmoil he faced trying so hard to keep those close to him happy and fulfilled. Your character development is so very good. There's so much more if could add, but suffice to say this story was just awesome.

This might be the most emotional and relatable BDSM stories that I've read. Tom is an amazing character, very controlled but still human. He has flaws and problems, but he stays true to his principles and way of life. That's extremely admirable and very impressive, and you described that through the vehicle of a BDSM piece. I'm in awe of your skills in writing. I very much hope that you continue this story, I love to see characters that I love live their lives.

Would you mind if I asked you to check your spelling; It's a "chaise longue" - from French - not "lounge". And the difference between "your" (possessive) and "you're" (short for "you are") is significant. You are too good a writer to make such mistakes.

You did a wonderful job bringing out the story far beyond a sex tale. In many ways you left those parts short to bring out the larger picture or I would think since the rest of the story was so well laid out. I certainly hope you continue the story line.

This story is very well told ( I read it ages ago so I had to read it all over again) I agree with one reviewer that it seems like a good stopping point for the series. I have read some that were well written until they added more chapters but the plot ended so had a cast of characters that were brand new right in the middle of a long series-- I was totally lost (then pissed because they did not bring the reader along). However others such as "The Six of Us" and "The Vassel Academy" are much longer where the plot just widens and they are also very well written. If you ever get inspired to write a Mind Control genre series there is a lack of new good multi-part stories I hope there are more stories from you.
