"You got my makeup too?" I ask.
"Oh right," Ellen says, seemingly also lost in thought. "It's in a box downstairs. I'll go get it."
Ellen leaves the bathroom and I start dressing myself. When she returns and hands me my make up, it takes me another hour to get ready for the trip to the city with Ellen.

I just found your writings, so forgive if you've made changes. The grammar is not bad wit the fore knowledge of English not being your primary language, so go for it. Only quirk that took me away from the story was the use of 24 hour time.
