I could see in the end, after he releases both Roger and his own wife, she doesn't say a word, but gets herself cleaned up, dresses and leaves. She gets an attorney and sues his sorry ass into oblivion!

I agree. Not meaning to take away from this story. It was an incredibly well written follow up of the original story; but, I too would like to read a version where Jim realizes that Flo and Roger worked for months at making Jim realize they had Cuckolded Jim and the entire neighborhood knew about it...and his two children had opposite allegiances concerning "The Joke". Roger wins Flo and make it perfectly clear that Jim has been publicly cuckolded. But Jim gets his revenge on Roger and Flo. This story had such an impact on me that whenever I hear the names. Jim, Flo, Roger and Alice, I think of this story and how I would close it out.

The aftermath of his 'joke' is going to be bad feelings between all of them. Maybe two divorces.

Loved every bit of the revenge but it did seem a bit extreme to brand his antagonist and screw his wife in front of him. Hell, “faking it” upstairs like the bastard did with his wife would’ve accomplished adequate revenge but he took it to the Nth degree!

A sequel to 'The Joke' that was satisfactory. After reading this, I still haven't. All the versions of this have the same fundamental flaw. They are still married at the end. No one with a hint of sanity would stay married to a wife like that. Not unless they they had enormous psychological dependancy issues. All the stories focus on the wrong issue. The guy next door is not the issue, the wife is the problem. The neighbor only got to pull his pranks because the wife enabled him to. Without her complicity, nothing would have happened. Yet, all the sequels focus on getting revenge on him, and let the bigger culprit, the wife, slide, with minimal, if any, consequences.

Wow! It was gruesome for a long time, but you warned us that it would be very dark and it was. The upside is that the ending MADE UP FOR EVERYTHING..

But I guess in the end Roger would call the cops, he did commit ... what is it the Brit cop shows call it? GBH Grievous Bodily Harm. - The BFF and Burns.

Considering this is just a story, there is no criticism to be made, its a story, your free to read or not read. It was entertaining and extreme, that was the point and extreme reaction to an extreme joke, balance it as you will. If you don't like it don't read it! It deserves no criticism, its just a story about a joke on to far! Good writing!

Humiliated Roger so much, carved him up, burned him, destroyed his self esteem, confidence, cockiness. Made him feel everything you felt in 1 evening, even took it so far he begged his wife to help him to stop the pain, even knowing he was asking his wife to use her body to do it, that was the ultimate revenge.

Absolutely amazing story, just goes to show how some people can view the ending and still say still a cuck, means that they didn't get the whole revenge plan.

A sociopath's revenge tale

He had already lost his wife, maybe years ago. If it had not of been Roger it would have been someone else. She simply didn't respect him any more. He had become an abused pet, tormented for the sick owner's pleasure. Maybe if he had shown some spine earlier she might have rehabilitated herself. But he went from unwilling victim, to whiner, to sucker. In a way he got from her what he inspired in her. It obviously wasn't love and respect.

It's just a fucking joke and the jokers don't get it? I think it's a great story, I don't like jokes either as it is always at some ones expense and embarrassment. Practical jokes are only funny to those pulling them. I was in the Army and was taking to guy one night about chess and he asked me to teach him how to play. He checked mated me in 3 moves-fools mate they call it. I never played chess again for years. It wasn't funny to me.

This is the perfect ending to the story. Roger will know to appreciate his wife I'm just not sure his wife will appreciate the joke even though she had her pleasure before.

The initial story makes you sympathetic with him, he deserved that sympathy, your story turned him into a monster, any and all sympathy burned through ages ago, you kinda end this story hoping he gets set on fire and then hit by a bus, having to live scarred and crippled.

I liked this story, gave it a 5. But not for the reasons everyone thinks. Revenge happens every day. But what the husband did was two fold. He got his respect back, and made his 3 “ prisoners” aware, that he was willing to abandon society’s constraints, to counter any perceived threats to himself, or his relationships. I am pretty sure that Alice and Rodger would move away. They could not out him to the police, without being implicated in the restraining, and fucking, they originally did. And wifey got to see him fuck Alice. So nobody is going to be having a sleep full night, for a long time to come.

Telling everyone it was going to be dark doesn't excuse what took place so I gave you a 1 star because your creation made him he fail the "human" test.

IF he had concluded that he needed to kill his rival then a single clean shot is the human way. He could even have pulled the gun stunt and recorded "the joke" and Roger's panicked reaction and thus have got his revenge AND come out on the moral high ground, instead his actions would have got him locked up as a psycho and deservedly so.

Alice would have to be beyond reason to remain with him when that night was over.
