Shivani nodded and a soldier kicked Zoe in the stomach, making her retch. Then they were gone, the door slamming shut behind them, plunging the room into darkness.
Shaking with rage at being captured and then being betrayed by the woman she loved, Zoe wept silently in the gloom, hot tears coursing down her bruised cheeks as she lay helpless on the cold concrete floor.
"If I ever get the chance, I'm gonna kill that bitch," she muttered, "I don't care what happens to me after that, I want her dead."
Exhausted and heartbroken, she fell asleep, momentarily free from the pain in her body and her mind.
