"Shut it." Bobby chuckles.

"I'll google him." Marisha laughs then give Jake his hug before the trio heads over to join the others near the fire.

****

"This party is a fucking bust!" Jamie swears as he tosses an empty beer can towards the trashcan. He misses and the can clatters to the floor at Michelle Pritchett's feet.

She kicks it away in disgust.

"Yeah, I think I'm out of here." She tells them.

"Shocking." Scott Kennedy deadpans.

"What's that supposed to mean?" She asks him.

"We all know that you want to go check out the geek party that Jake and them are throwing." Scott states. "It's like you and Somer are trying to see who can spread their legs for Jake fastest or some shit."

"You're gross." Michelle tells him. "And yes, I'm thinking about going over to check out their party. I heard from a lot of people that they were going to check it out this year, too. I guess that explains the lack of turn out for this one."

"They'll be here." Patrick tells them. "You know how people are always late to these things."

Michelle surreptitiously checks the time and thinks that most people aren't usually two hours late for a party.

"I'm sure that's it." She lies. "Still, I think I'm going to head over there and see what's going on."

"Go ahead if you want to but that slutty nurse costume isn't going to get you Jake." Somer snipes.

"Oh, I know my chance to get with him is zero but at least I can admit it." Michelle fires back. "Sadly, you still think that you have a chance."

"I've got more than a fucking chance, bitch!" Somer snaps.

"Well good luck living in your delusion then." Michelle says before walking out the door of Patrick's house.

"Delusion my ass." Somer states.

"We should head over to their party and do it there." Patrick tells them.

"The plan you mean?" Jamie asks.

"Of course the plan!" Patrick states. "It's perfect. Think about it, a bunch of our classmates will be there to see Jake get humiliated and dumped. By Monday it'll be all over the school just like that thing with that Jenny girl was."

"So we're crashing the nerd party?" Scott asks Patrick as he, Jamie, Somer and Patrick are standing in Patrick's driveway.

"Fuck yeah we are." Patrick comments. "I am taking Jake down tonight!"

"Do we need costumes?" Scott asks. "I mean I heard some the guys talking and they said they were getting costumes."

"Which guys?" Jamie asks.

"I heard Tank, Des and I think that Monte kid talking about it in the hallway last week." Scott answers.

"You want to call this shit off then, Patrick? You know I've got no problem with punching Jake out but if Tank gets involved like I think he might, all bets are off." Jamie states.

"Don't fucking worry about Tank or anyone else." Patrick tells him. "Once they see how lame that party is, they'll be gone long before we get there. I mean there's no booze or anything there. Why would anyone stay?"

"So... do we need costumes?" Scott asks again.

Patrick shakes his head grabs the water bottle from Somer's hand.

"Hey!" She shouts.

Patrick tosses it to Scott. "There's your costume. You're a fucking water boy. Happy now?"

"Thrilled." Scott deadpans then turns to Jamie. "What are you going as?"

"The guy that punches out Jake." Jamie chuckles.

"Will you stop worrying about costumes, asshole!" Patrick snaps.

"That's easy for you to say. You and Somer are wearing costumes." Scott complains. "I mean you're wearing your jersey and Somer's in her cheer-slut outfit."

"Fuck you, Scott!" Somer snaps at him.

"Not if I gotta stand in line behind Jake." He chuckles.

Patrick decides to ignore him and turns to Somer. "Are you ready to this? I can't have any fuck ups if this is going to work."

"Sure, why not?" Somer asks flippantly.

"Let's get this show on the road then." Jamie comments.

"Lets." Patrick says as they head to his car. "I'm putting an end to this Year of Jake tonight!"

****

"You made me worry for no reason, Jake Gibson." Marisha scolds him as the pair share a slow dance in the open area of the yard.

"I did?" Jake asks.

"I was worried that you'd be stomping on my toes but you surprised me again by being so light on your feet." She answers. "I guess I should have known you would be with seeing how you move on the field and all."

"I give all the credit to my incredible partner." Jake compliments her.

"It's no wonder Jess loves you so much. You are the sweetest guy and you say the sweetest things." She smiles at him then leans up and kisses his cheek just below the point on his mask. "I hope Jess will forgive me but you had that coming."

"I hope Des forgives me." Jake comments.

"Des?" Marisha asks. "Why would you hope that he'd forgive you?"

"Because he hasn't been able to take his eyes off you ever since you got here, gorgeous." Jake tells her.

"No way!" She exclaims.

Jake spins her so that she can Des who is standing with Ray and Bobby at the refreshments table. He smiles when he sees Marisha looking at him before he looks away.

"Oh my gosh, he is looking at me!" She says excitedly.

"Should I dance us over there so he can ask if he can cut in?" Jake asks.

"If you do, you'll still owe me a dance at prom." She tells him.

"Pretty lady, if your dance card isn't full at prom then you've got a deal." Jake assures her.

"You will always have a spot on my dance card, Jake." She assures him.

He spins them over towards where Des is standing and it only takes him a couple of seconds to step over.

"Jake, you can't monopolize all the beautiful ladies that are here." He tells him. "Marisha, may I finish this dance and show this white boy how it's done?"

"Hey, I thought I was doing pretty good out there." Jake says to him.

"Good, yes. Pretty... the jury's still out on that." Des jokes as he takes Marisha by the hand.

"Take good care of this gorgeous lady, Des." Jake tells him before he leans in and kisses her cheek. "Thank you for the dance, Marisha. You're awesome."

Jessica, who is dancing with Antoine, gives Jake a wink and mouths good job at him. Jake nods back and joins Bobby and Ray at the refreshments table who seem to be in the middle of an argument.

****

"I'm telling you the God's honest truth." Ray tells Bobby as Jake joins them.

Bobby grabs Jake's shoulder and turns him towards Ray.

"This Jake? You're standing there and telling me that it was this Jake that did that? Bullshit." Bobby states.

"What did I do?" Jake asks.

"I've been telling Bobby that he needs to get some of your guidance before he and Marybeth go any further but he doesn't believe that you're capable of giving such great advice." Ray explains.

"Bobby and I have a lot of history, Ray." Jake says. "He knows me better than I know myself at times but if my little talk with you helped..."

"Helped? Helped, he says." Ray laughs. "Because of you I can have Staci crawling the walls within seconds and thinking I'm some kind of sex god because of you. Believe me, Bobby, you'll want to listen to and more importantly follow through with what Jake tells you. It is beyond worth it!"

Bobby thinks this over for a minute. "Jessica certainly has a this lusty look in her eyes when she looks at him now and Staci did kiss him that one time."

"Two times." Jake shares. "She's kissed me twice now."

"And you're all right with that?" Bobby asks Ray.

"She does it so I don't have to." Ray laughs.

"So you don't have to what?" Jessica asks as she and Antoine join them.

"Kiss Jake." Ray answers.

"Gladly," Jessica laughs then pulls Jake for a sensuous kiss that goes on for several seconds. "Mmm, I missed that."

"Not as much as I did, Jess." Jake answers leaning in to kiss her again but Antoine interrupts them.

"Hold up. Is Jake kissing someone besides Jessica?" he asks.

"Staci, apparently." Bobby answers. "Twice now."

"Staci? You mean Ray's Staci?" Antoine asks. "What the hell, Jake?"

"It was just a simple thank you kiss, guys." Jessica tells Bobby and Antoine.

"That was not a simple thank you kiss, Jessica." Twanda comments as she walks up to them.

"I wasn't talking about mine. I was talking about when Staci kissed Jake." Jessica tells her. "Come on with me so the boys can talk and I'll fill you in."

Jessica leads a confused Twanda away towards the fire pit so they can chat.

"Let me see if I've got this right. First you get that fine ass Wildcat there, then you've got that cutie Marisha head over heels for you and now I find out Ray's hot little cheerleader is kissing on you, too. What in the hell kind of year are you having Jake?"

Jake can't help but laugh. "A great one obviously."

"Just tell them what you told me when you and I talked, Jake." Ray tells him. "Their ladies deserve the same kind of treatment that ours are enjoying."

Jake relates his advice to a skeptical Bobby and a more receptive Antoine.

"That sounds way too easy." Bobby argues.

"In theory yes but when you try it for the first time you feel like an idiot." Ray explains. "I mean I go in thinking I know all there is to know and I almost didn't ask Staci but when I did, I don't know who was more surprised, her or me about what I learned."

"And you don't feel like an idiot now when you ask her about this stuff?" Antoine asks.

"At first, absolutely, but once you realize that she just came from what you did it changes dramatically. I'm talking a real actual orgasm, several in fact, not that fake crap that I was used to when I was part of Patrick's crew."

"Shit," Antoine exclaims. "I've got to try this and see if I can tell a difference."

"Oh you definitely know the difference when she tells you the where and how instead of you having to play a guessing game." Ray assures him. "And the best part is that if Twanda thinks that you're being weird you can just throw Jake under the bus. He doesn't mind."

"Hey, I do mind, Ray. It's just my way of giving you guys an out if you screw up." Jake tells him. "I expect credit if it does work though."

"Mr. Modesty here means when it works." Ray shares.

"Twanda's going to be kissing him by Monday." Antoine sighs. "I can already tell."

"The funny part is that you won't even care when she does it because of that look of love she gives you once you give her that big O." Ray laughs.

"I guess it couldn't hurt to try it." Bobby admits knowing that if Antoine would be willing to give it a try with his long time girlfriend, it might be worth it to try with Marybeth. "So help me, Jake, if this goes horribly wrong I'll not only throw you under the bus, I'll get in the drivers seat and back over you a few times as well."

"I'm going to warn Jess to expect two more ladies to feel indebted to Jake by Monday." Ray laughs. "If he keeps this up he'll be kissed more than babies at a politician's rally."

****

"I guess we know where all the kids that weren't at your party were now." Scott comments as the group park Patrick's car behind a line of other cars that are nearly two football field's length from Staci's house.

"Shut the fuck up, Scott!" Patrick snaps.

"What in the fuck are they all doing here?" Jamie asks. "I mean there wasn't going to be any booze like at your party, was there? Why the hell is there so many people here?"

"Jake's popularity is growing." Somer answers. "He came back from being three touchdowns down to win the big homecoming game. Coach Yates put him a little in last nights and he still managed to look impressive when he hooked up with Ray on that seventy yard touchdown pass that gave us the lead. His girlfriend is leading her volleyball team in scoring and they're making a run for the state title. To top all that off, they're friendly to everyone at the school and people respond to that."

"Everyone at school is just who I'm hoping is there." Patrick comments. "I want everyone to see how I kick Jake right off that pedestal that he's found himself on this year."

Patrick and his group follow the sound of the music to Staci's backyard and are astounded at the turn out.

"Damn, it looks like half the school's turned out for this party!" Jamie exclaims.

"Even better." Patrick comments. "Find Jessica for me."

"I'll go find Jake and keep him occupied." Somer offers and quickly hurries into the crowd.

"Probably hoping to beat Michelle to him so she can comfort him once this thing goes down." Jamie remarks. "She'll be wearing him like a hat before tonight's over."

"Everyone's wearing a costume." Scott quietly complains as he looks around.

Patrick ignores him as he looks for Jessica's blonde hair amid the throng of teens.

"I don't see her." Jamie states as they walk around. "Maybe they left already."

Patrick looks for Somer and sees her walking towards a guy clad in some superhero costume. "She's still here." He states. "Somer's already managed to sniff out Jake and if he's here so is Jessica."

"Got her." Jamie says pointing towards someone in a Batgirl costume that's standing by the fire pit.

"That girl's got red hair, you moron." Patrick snaps.

"You ever hear of hair dye, asshole?" Jamie answers. "She's taller than almost all the other girls here. That's her, I'm telling you."

"That's her." Scott concurs. "Jake's dressed as Nightwing so it makes sense that she's dressed as Batgirl."

"Why does that make sense and how the hell do you even know who they are?" Patrick asks.

"My little brother collects comics." Scott answers. "I flip through them sometimes if I'm bored."

"Sounds like you do more than flip through them." Jamie snickers. "You fucking nerd."

"Would you two shut the hell up and come on?" Patrick orders them. "If we don't hurry up, Somer is liable to accidentally spill the beans if Jake so much as bats his eyes at her."

****

"Nice party." Patrick says as he, Jamie and Scott walk up to Jessica.

"It was." Jessica sighs. "What do you want, Patrick?"

"You look damn sexy, Jess." He states as his eyes roam all over her costumed body. "I like the new red hair."

"Red in the head, fire in the hole." Jamie chuckles just loud enough for Jessica to hear.

"Real mature, Jamie." She tells him while shaking her head.

"Why don't you two go take a walk while I chat with Jessica here?" He orders them after glaring at Jamie.

"We have nothing to chat about, Patrick." Jessica says.

"That's where you're wrong." He tells her as he pulls out his his cell phone. "We need to talk about this."

He begins to play a video and hands it to her. On the screen she can see the side of a bed and a girl's bare leg stretched out on it.

"I don't care about your porn habits, Patrick." Jessica tells him.

"Just listen for a second." He tells her.

"Get in here, Jake. I can't wait any longer." a girls voice moans through the speaker.

On the screen, a person wearing a sling enters the room but because of the way the camera is set up you can't see the guy's head.

"Am I supposed to believe that's Jake?" Jessica asks suppressing a laugh.

"Didn't you just hear her say his name? And the sling he's wearing? That's Jake." Patrick states.

Jessica watches as the guy in the video attempts to struggle out of his shirt and it's all she can do to not laugh.

"Come on and give me that yummy dick, Jake." the girl in the video says.

Jessica hits stop on the video and hands Patrick back his phone.

"Thanks for showing me that, Patrick. You can go now." She tells him.

"Go? You need to confront Jake with this! He cheated on you!" Patrick says.

"Patrick, that isn't really your concern. You need to go. Now." Jessica reiterates.

"I don't think I will." He answers. "I think everyone here needs to see this video showing the real Jake."

"Patrick, please don't do this. It will go bad for you." Jessica warns him.

"Bad for me?" Patrick asks. "What in the hell are you talking about?"

"If you walk away right now and leave Jake and I alone for the rest of the year, I'll forget all about this. If you put that video up on that screen like I can tell you're thinking about doing, it will end badly for you. I will end it badly for you so do us all a favor and walk away." She warns him again.

Patrick stares at her for a couple of seconds, trying to determine how he should take her threat.

"Sorry, Jessica but I've got to do this. People need to know the real Jake." He states and begins walking towards the laptop. Jessica sadly shakes her head as he walks away.

"Jess, my mom was leaving to get more food when I overheard someone saying that Patrick is here." Staci says after running up to her. "Are you all right? What's going on?"

"He's about to do something that he's really going to regret but he doesn't realize it yet." Jessica answers.

"What's he going to do, Jess?" Staci asks.

"He's got a video that he claims is Jake. It's not and I can easily prove that it isn't. I warned him not to do it but he won't listen." Jessica tells her.

"Listening has never been his strong suit." Staci says. "Do you need any help?"

"If I do, I know that you and all our friends will jump in without me having to ask." Jessica says. "He's trying to hurt Jake again and I'm ending this tonight!"

****

Patrick attaches his auxiliary cord to the laptop's port and cues up the video.

"If I can have everyone's attention!" Patrick announces to the crowd of teens. "I've got something here that you all need to see."

As the group begin to filter over, Jake joins Jessica and Staci.

"Shit, what is he doing here and what's going on?" Jake asks.

"Patrick's going to be an asshole." Staci answers.

"Tell me something that I haven't seen every day since kindergarten, Staci." Jake says.

"One last chance to stop this, Patrick." Jessica calls out. "If you hit play on that, bad things are going to happen."

"That's what I'm counting on, Jessica." He answers her.

Antoine, Twanda, and Ray hurry over to the trio.

"If you want, I'll stop his ass right now." Antoine says as he takes a step towards Patrick. Jamie moves to block him and Jake pulls Antoine back.

"No fighting, Antoine." Jake says. "We can't get Staci's mom in trouble over this."

"Let him go ahead, it's not going to work out like he thinks it will." Jessica assures him. "I warned him but he's insisting on letting this play out. He's about to learn that he should have listened to me."

"Wildcat!" Antoine shouts with a laugh.

The same scene that Jessica just watched plays out for all those gathered about the homemade movie screen.

"That's not me." Jake quickly tells Jessica. "You know that's not me don't you?"

"Of course I do, sweetie." She assures him. "There's a huge giveaway right at the start."

"There is?" Twanda asks convinced that she's watching Jake undress on the screen in front of her.

"Yeah, that's totally not Jake." Staci says. "I know Jake's chest and that's not his."

"And just how do you know that?" Twanda asks.

"I'll explain it later." Staci assures her

"That's not what I was talking about but it's just something else I can point out." Jessica shares. "I want this to play out just like he wants before I tear it all out from under him."

"Jess, you don't have to do this." Jake says. "You knowing it's not me up there is enough. Anyone who knows me, also knows that's not something I would do. The rest of it doesn't matter to me."

"Yeah well, he's going after your reputation and it's pissed me off." Jessica states. "I'm not about to let that slide."

On the screen, the guy has stripped down to his boxers and is climbing between the outstretched legs of the girl who is still begging Jake to give it to her.

"Boxers?" Staci asks. "He absolutely cannot pay an ounce of attention to anything. Jake wears boxer briefs for goodness sake. How has he not seen you getting dressed in the locker after a game or practice?"
